Root Deleted everything Google

Hey, I was being cheeky the other day and thought I'd delete everything google from my phone, so maps are gone etc. but suprise suprise, google play isnt working. I had root explorer which means its things like com.android.google.play.apk that are gone. I redownloaded the google play apk, still crashes after launch. I tried uninstalling updates but nothing is working. This is mildly annoying as I cant easily download new apps and I have to opera my way to apk updates.

I tried using default Android app (before it was Google Play), no dice.

what do you mean 'just'?!!, its the whole darn software!!

If you had make a CWM bakup before you deleted everything, you can do an advanced restore and restore just the /system. Else if you really want play store that badly, flash the rom again.

I had it backed up with Titanium, but a full restroe didn't fix it.
How do I flash it? I just find not being able to use it really annoying.

I meant a Nandroid bakup through CWM not a TB bakup. Seems you didn't just deleted system apps else TB should have sorted it out.

You can flash the rom again, bakup your user apps and system app's data through TB first.

I know how annoying this is gonna be but... how do I flash it? Don't link me to a tutorial 20 pages long please :L

These are actually really good compilations, people learn it the hard way, you read this and you can avoid a lot of commonly made disasters.

Almost all basic knowledge that anyone entering into android development should know is given here, there is also a real development tutorial there which is for core developers only, i tried reading that one, didn't know what language it was in

OK, I got this. I read both, in detail, and all I need now is to choose a custom rom and to find a gapps udate for a Galaxy Ace. I tried RooferKev's link but there is no listing for my phone. Downloading a file called cm-7.2.0.cooper.zip, I'm going to try to update the gapps in recovery mode. However this was for Cyanogen Mod 7.... but will it still work? Got it here: wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Latest_Version#Google_Apps. I need to know if it's correct, please respond ASAP.

Get the gapps from the CM7 section, its the same file for ldpi, mdpi and hdpi phones, so no problem in deciding. You can actually flash any(old/latest) version and then update them via play store.
There are 2 latest CM versions for ACE(cooper), official and unofficial, for official there is a thread here by PJ147, the download link for latest nightly can be found there, there is also an unofficial version by vo-1 at xda, i am currently using a modified version of that, everything works in that, i am not sure about the known bugs in the official version.

The CM team brought us CM7.2 quite late and its development is also quite slow, by the time the first nightly came, the developers at xda already had an unofficial CM7 fully working. It still works better than the official version.

Take a look at both of them, there are many things/features that work in the unofficial CM and not in the official CM.

You have flashed CM7.2, that is the only one available for us, there was 7.1 earlier too, but it was a ported one with many bugs, although it made way for unofficial CM development for ACE. No idea about 7.0.

CM has an .ext file system(like NTFS, FAT and FAT32 in windows) whereas stock has a .rfs system, when you flashed CM the system was formatted into .ext system, but inorder to return to stock rom you need to flash a stock rom via Odin to convert the system back to .rfs. If the rom you are flashing is already on .ext system, you don't need to flash via Odin.
Also, do note that some stock custom roms are also on ext system, so take care of that and no need of Odin for flashing to that rom.

ICS(CM9) is still under development by Galaxyics team, i wouldn't recommend that for now, it still has alot of bugs, also there are i think only 2 custom roms(miui4 and parandroid) made over that, both having many bugs. They are gonna release a new beta very soon and its supposed to be very clean of bugs with camera fully working.

For now you should stick to CM7.2 for now, explore it a bit, there are alot of custom roms on that, check xda, i am using Apocalypse now, quite satisfied with it.
There are loads of new features and functions on CM that you should explore and get used to, including overclocking.

I still have CM7.2 cooper but I am going to flash Moto Droid Razr UI ([ROM][Galaxy Ace] Moto RAZR-UI Rev v7.1 Originally made by[TeamCooper and Neko95] - xda-developers). Should I reflash to stock via Odin? Doesn't say on the thread if it is .ext.
Thinking of installing an OC kernel to get maybe a stable 900MHz, I want to play GTA III on it fairly lag free. Installed Chainfire 3d, and using Nvidia plugin, testing it now.
What features and functions are you suggesting I explore in CM7? I like the ROM, but essentially, as far as I know, was faster, different launcher, different look, but I would rather use stock and have my widgets than go without them.
