Cupcake calendar downloads?

Wotcher all, anyone know if the standard android Cupcake calendar can be downloaded from somewhere? The HTC Hero calendar lacks week view and if you delete events on the hero they don't get synced to Google Calendar so I'd like to try the original, stock Android calendar from the Cupcake release.

Harrumph, I found a torrent of the Cupcake images for the G1 but the calendar package won't install, it fires up in the package installation manager and I can see all its details but the actual install fails with a very unhelpful "can't install on this phone" message.

I got an instant reply; "please hard reset your device", that was all I got. I said "this doesn't help, please escalate", I hate it when tech support just tells you to reset to factory config then closes the call, lazy idiots. There's massive variation in competence at HTC's tech support, I've had one good one, one bad obstructive one, one terrible phone call, and this latest one was just lazy.

I called their tech support line and spoke to a woman who could barely speak english, who told me to go to the "main menu" (what main menu?), select "view" (there's no such entry on any menu), then wanted my IMEI number (which you're not supposed to give out), then my phone app force-closed and cut me off. She also told me repeated to check the "menus on the PC to make sure they are correct" but couldn't give me any detail on what she meant... Woeful.

you should ask the guys at xda. you might be able to push it through an adb terminal, but I really don't know. you can find legit cupcake builds here
GetYourDroidOn

Thanks, I think though that the cupcake one won't install because of a name clash, the Hero version of the calendar is also called Calendar. For now I'll live with it.

crikey, that is awful service; I'll see what reply I get, if any...

Be warned, they're scriptbots the lot of 'em. The one I got when I called to ask about the issue with Android Market kept banging on about "not all phones are compatible with the applications on the Market" and prefaced every sentence with "I must tell you this Sir..."
