Downgrade Tutorial (Open Idea Thread)

If I am not mistaken, the only possible way to change from the leaked 2.1 is if the build number/kernel version (can't remember which) has a higher number than the current leaked 2.1. This is why we should be able to get the OTA update. The only way I can see a downgrade being possible would be for someone to modify a version of the 1.5 ROM so that the build number/kernel version is higher than that of the current leaked 2.1. However, doing so might render any ability to get the OTA or even Root impossible.

You are mostly correct.
Normally downgrading could just use our typical "Goldcard method" to revert and push old over the new from boot...more or less laymans terms.
But goldcard is dead end :(
And the problem with tweaking build number, is that would mean changing ROM (read only memory) which would cut out OTA from being able to happen...
All options have pretty much been exhausted...so its pretty much a dead end....
