Android lost??

Hey guys,

Ok, this is more of a users choice type question.

Now when I was a Blackberry user, there was a site sponsored by BB called Blackberry Protect to use if you lost your BB. It did all the things you would expect of such a project. You could log on to the website you could send a lock command, display whatever you wanted on the screen of the phone, call the phone, delete all personal information, locate the phone using it's internal GPS of which you could turn on remotely if it was not on at the time your trying to "find" your phone and they even had a way for you to backup and restore your BB personal info.

Now when I got my first Android, it was an HTC. Up until recently HTC had 'HTC Sense' which allowed you to do all those same things until I am guessing HTC didn't realize it would be such a hit because they have since taken it down stating that it was no ready for primetime so they just shut the service off.

Now I have the Galaxy Note and I really miss those services. I know there are apps such as "Lookout" and "Android Lost". So my question to you guys is, do you know of such a service / app that does it all in the Android world? Blackberry's site / app was simply superb, but I haven't found any app in the Droid world that would do all the things I mentioned above. From what I have seen some of the apps do some of those features but not all. I was hoping someone who may know the BB service I am speaking of and can compare those features and let me know if there is something in the Droid world that would give you all the same tasks ect.

What is the current "User's Choice" here at android forums? Yes I know that there are a bunch of threads in here regarding these apps, but I am trying to see what do you guys use that is the closest to the BB Protect but works great for Android and preferably is free just as it was for BB Protect and HTCSense while it lasted for HTC devices. So I would love to hear what you are all using.

Thanks!

Cerberus does everything you listed except backup & restore. The appeal of Cerberus for me was the ability to control it via SMS in addition to the web site. Cerberus is available as a 7 day trial, after which it's $3 for up to 5 devices.

If by "personal information" you mean contacts, calendar, etc., but not third party apps or data, the inherent cloud storage of that data should be enough to restore from.

I have Android Lost installed on my phone. Those other apps posted look like they'll do the job but Android Lost does some rather unique things. You can turn on the microphone or camera, put a message on the screen so when someone clicks OK it takes a pic of them with your front cam and emails it to you. BUSTED! lol. It's a fun app to tinker with for free and makes stuff like lookout or where's my droid look rather dated.

Hey Guys, I just wanted to follow up on an app I'm now using that gives me all the things I need and it's free. It's called TrustGo, it's an antivirus / malware app. It also has security features if your phone is lost, you can remotely lock, wipe, alarm, and display it's location on a map on their website. Backup and restore your contacts. All features can be scheduled. As well it monitors the use of all apps on the device to make sure that they are not accessing information they shouldn't be and they monitor the apps usage to insure that you can find battery hogging apps. It has a bunch of other cool features as well and one of those is that if you remotely lock your phone, it sends you an email with the date and time that the lock took place which is nice if someone gets into your account and locks your phone atleast you have some details.. Example..

"We successfully locked your SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 at 04:19 AM - 06/17/2012 GMT."

I found this app as I was already using 3 other apps by this developer that have extended my battery life from hours to days and has nice widgets to help you monitor your device. They had an ad in one of the apps that said if you installed TrustGo it would remove all the ad's from all the apps from this dev that I am already using which was just a bonus!

I have no complaints thus far and all features are everything I was looking for in my original post. I don't know if anyone else has any information about this app, or has used it. I hope if anyone has they have had as good of a review of it as I have because as of right now, I am really happy with this one!

Perhaps I for once have given some good advise to someone here as you all have always done for me! Thanks All!!! :)

I know this is off topic, which of the apps extended your battery life? I'd like to check that out as well.

Naaa, Not really off topic if you've ever seen my topics :)

Any whoo the main app for the battery life is called "Easy Battery Saver" by 2Easy, however, all their apps together do work to streamline your droid and in doing so they all work together to make the most out of your battery. The thing I like the most about the "Easy Battery Saver", for me anyway, is just how easy it is to setup and use. I have used multiple battery saver apps in the past, and found them to either be confusing or cumbersome. This one is simple (easy as the name suggests) does what it says, and just plain works. Again, I have all their apps (4 in total I think, task killer, battery saver, virus / lost phone, and a downloader app) and they all work seamlessly together.

If you choose to check out the Easy Battery Saver, I hope you have as much luck with it as I.
