I'm done talking with Sprint. I'm in the Chicago area and have terrible issues since March. The responce from Sprint is unnacceptable.
I suggest anyone having problems remember the BBB-Better Business Bureau and the FCC. I filed complaints with both and I'm ready to jump to Verizon.
My phone is a paperweight.

This isn't what you want to hear, but I am in Chicago too. Called any number of times about this before I found out the issue. They are upgrading the towers and have been since March. August they will be done. Hang in there. Besides, why go to Verizon when you will pay through the nose? Did you read the latest articles? Just hang in there if you can. If not, so be it. Good luck.

I agree about the price. Looked at Verizon, but it would be $50 more a month. Did Sprint offer an airwave to help out? I also read alot of good reviews on Wilson Sleek to take weak signals and magnify. They are around $100-$150 though, but would be cheaper than the price jump to Verizon especially since the last poster mentioned it will be a month or two.

The Chicago market is one of 4 or 5 markets that will experience dropped calls as the Network upgrades are rolled out. This article from s4gru.com explains it pretty well.

I know more about their upgrades than I care to! They should GIVE us a Wilson Sweet Spot, we are paying for a service that we aren't getting.
Yes I have an airwave, I have signal in my house but not on my patio or getting the mail. I'm oncall for the railroad, I cannot miss calls! They will fire me. So I have an airwave and can sit in my house until work calls, can't walk the dog or leave the house. It comes down to how they treat you during this upgrade, they are terrible and I have wasted hours and hours being lied to and repeating myself. I'm in Joliet/Plainfield Illinois, was told 6/10 we would be up and running with LTE. Oh yeah, they told me that on 3/29 it would be done too.

Which phone do you have, you might want to root it and use a Verizon PRL in the meantime

I wish I was in your predicament. I'd gladly take some dropped calls in the short term for the long term Network Vision/LTE upgrades that are heading your way in Chicago. Guess everyone has different views on it though.

Some dropped calls in the short term. I have NO signal on my porch or walking my dog around the block. I'm ONCALL for the railroad, if I miss a call I can lose my job. They pay us to be available when they call, my phone needs to work.
This has been going on since March, not short term. They are still not giving a date for completion, I've heard Sept-Oct. Maybe if have your phone to play games and surf the web you can handle the terrible service. If you depend on your phone for work then this is unacceptable.

By no means a proper solution but maybe a cheap work around. Any good cheap pre paid plans down that way to get you buy til the upgrade. I know you mentioned Verizon and thats up to you. I know for me to goto Verizon would be $50 jump. Prepaid has to be cheaper for a few months,

A customer should not have to jump through hoops since he is paying the full price for his service. Sprint should let him out of his contract if they can't provide adequate service or at least give him a discounted rate. I know his frustration. April 2013 cannot get here fast enough.

Verizon are crooks and will try everything they can to screw you on billing.

AT&T provided the best service of the three for me.

I did check coverage areas before joining Sprint and they had my area listed as a good coverage area.

Verizon wil be about the same, thats with the new plan on 6/28. I'm paying $129 plus $10 for each phone $149 total before taxes and insurance.
The Verizon plan in $40 per smartphone w unlimited calls and texts plus $60 for 4gb of shared data. That would be plenty of data. That is $140 before taxes and insurance.
I shouldn't have to pay for a track phone when I'm paying full price for my service. I wish Verizon had something worth giving up the new Evo!

Def agree. You would think Sprint would credit you. Do they still associate with Boost and is that on different towers? I know nothing compares to the Evo on Verizon, but check out the Rezound. I thought it was a good phone. I debated switching and couldnt justify the cost. I had the phone 4 days. Had to pay restocking(as expected), but also had to pay activation and prorated bill totaling $100. I had them before Sprint and a non smart phone and paid $100.. Good to see you can get roughly the same price if you do decide to switch

The galaxyS3 is something I would settle for. There is rumor of a new HTC besides the Incredible and a new Moto.
