How to stream to TV?

I'm thinking of getting either the TF300T-B1-BL or the Acer A510.

I know the Acer has HDMI out.

How would I stream HBO Go or another app to my TV? Do I need MHL adapter like for Galaxy Nexus or something else?

Any other reasons for/against either of these?

So far I have been really impresed with the HDMI out. It displays exactly what is on the tablet regardless of what app u have open. So if you can get an app for it, netflix, hulu, others, you can Stream it to tv

The TF300 has HDMI out as well, and as lowki said, it mirrors the tablet display.

Cool. That's what I was trying to verify. Micro HDMI to HDMI or if I needed to get special MHL to HDMI adapter like I need for my Nexus.

Any other big differences in the 2?

I was going to wait till the Google Nexus tablet came out later this month, but all signs point to only 7" for now.

Jus t bought mine yesterday, took it home unlocked the bootloader (courteousy of ASUS), flashed CWM recovery and rooted. I am mightily impressed with the whole design and unspoilt ICS experience (owning a Galaxy Nexus made this an important prerequisite in my purchase decision). Love the keyboard and its shortcuts. Great machine.

What's the advantage of keyboard (other than battery)? For $150, not sure I'd use it enough, but it fits nicely together. Are we really getting 8 hours? What about if I don't use it for days? Is it like Android phone that will die quickly even if not being used?

Well, imho with the hardware keyboard in place, as you rightly mention, you get more hours of use out of the tablet, but in addition, you have the entire 10.1" screen real estate available for viewing and working with without half of it being obscured by an on-screen keyboard. I grant you that this only matters when you work with e-mails, documents and the like, but after all said and done you can simply detach the tab and you have a very powerful stand-alone-tablet to use in a tradtional way. Oh, one more thing, you can whack-in a ruddy great big SDHC card to bump up your storage (I believe it takes up to 128GB card - thats if you are a movie fan) and they are pretty cheap these days (in addtion to the micro-SD in the Tablet itself). You pays your money you makes your choice

Guess I'm gonna have ta go to Amazon and order the micro HDMI cable for my TF 300 B1,just got my multi-functional docking station delivered this afternoon. What I like about this docking station is the fact that not only does it have the extra battery, which charges the TF 300 while connected, but, it has a USB slot so you can connect a mouse, flash drive, external HD,etc, there is also a slot for a full size SD card, I was thinking it would be like on the tablet..a micro SD card slot. So that in and of itself is great for me..cause..man do I have a boat load of SD card, ranging in size frim 1 gig up to 32 gig. I also have a 16G and a 32G flash drives which I use to back up my laptop. now I can back up my TF 300 as well. I have a 32G micro SD card installed in my tablet currently. Does anyone know off hand, weather or not the TF 300 will accept and handle a 64G micro SD card?

As I stated earlier, just got my multi-function docking station (keyboard) today. I ordered it on Amazon on Wednesday afternoon around 5 PM it arrived about 12:30 PM EDT . If you are thinking about getting one..why pay $150 + tax at Best Buy, Office Depot, Office Max,etc. when you can go to Amazon.com and get it for $128.24..I'm looking at the ad right now as I type this response. Only have been using this for an hour or so, I must say I am impressed, given it smaller size, this functions like a regular keyboard you would see on a laptop. My only observation I can really comment on, is the touch pad is sensitive, and I will have to learn to keep my fingers off it while typing lest I touch the pad and set the cursor a paragraph or 2 back. It isn't much of a learning curve, but until you are comfortable using the docking station, pay attention to where your fingers are. So..go to Amazon, get the Multi-Functional Docking Station for $128 with the money you save..you can go ahead and order the Poetic ASUS Transformer TF300 Leather Keyboard Portfolio stand case cover for $19.95, the 2 combined comes to $148.19, throw in free shipping..BANG..I ask what more can you ask for?

There is a key on the keyboard which will toggle the touchpad on/off - 4th from the left.
I've read here on another post that it will not accept a 64 GB card.
