Checking out another site,

I saw that a bootable ICS leak for the bionic was found in the cheesecake servers. Naturally I checked if any devs are working on it and found an article at droidlife.

ICS 4.0.4 Leaks For DROID Bionic, Can Be Flashed Through Stock Recovery – Droid Life

Pics show that its android 4.04.

I'm gonna wait until the devs get through the leak before I jump on anything. But this is great news and it seems a 3rd quarter release as promised by Moto is possible.

Here's a vid I found...

ICS 4.0.4 on bionic - YouTube

Things you should know before taking the plunge...(Most of this info can be found in the article above)

-You do not need root.
-You will need to be on stock .905 no custom ROM.
-IMO, The best way to get back to stock is to RSD Lite using the .902 FXZ file and taking the .905 update via System updates.
-Installing the latest leak requires you to use the stock recovery not Clockwork or safestrap or bootstrap.
-You can RSD lite back to stock from .2233 when the official release comes out.
-Some of the people who have already installed this leak have found a few bugs...very few, IMO. The thread can be found below. So if you are wondering if you should install this leak, you can check to see if the issues/bugs we found is a deal breaker. The bugs we found have workarounds.

-Also here's the post on the step by step installation process after you get back to stock.
Thanks AurJohn!

This is VERY good news! :smokingsomb:
If I have to reset the LTE/CDMA connection on my AOKP ICS ROM one.. more.. time... AAARGH!
A solid ICS build might actually be the push I need to start fresh after backing myself into a corner with .904. (yeah, I know I could manually moto-fastboot back to .902, but I wasn't motivated, until ICS)

I am interning for a large company this summer and a fellow intern who is in the mobile division I just talked to has said that he has been told that the droid razr is getting ICS for early testing next week. As I have read many times and agree with is that once the Razr gets ICS then we shall get it soon after. Hopefully things are looking up.

Well two things about this post. First of all, the intern at the mobile devision sounds confused. Early testing next week? That gives them...No time to update in Q2. Meaning they failed their delivery date.

OR.

We Get ICS on our RAZR Within the next week, and bionic could be within the first week of Q3. Its possible, you see a test build for razr, it releases, then a test build releases for bionic, then they roll out an update. They have done things in this fashion so far. So, we can assume that The RAZR having a leaked build recently, they will have ICS soon, Now bionic just got leaked. Probably be available shortly after as well. Bionics will likely see ICS next month. RAZR will see it over the next 9 days.

I wouldn't be too shocked by this. I would hope that all of us would rather they miss their delivery date by a few weeks rather than deliver something unfinished and buggy just to meet a guessed deadline.

This is true however, i have family members that are in software development for a large company(as a matter of fact, i think i shouldn't say who it is as they might call it an HR breach haha)

Anyways my point is, if there is a deadline, their bosses are breathing down their necks as we speak. The offshore teams are scrambling to finish automation...etc. They will drop it on the deadline, if its a deadline. Software developers and architects would say "There is no deadline." But when you are dealing with software that comes in iterations, they will absolutely release a buggy product with the intention of updates over a fully built product any day.

Thats how google works, beta. Everything they have on the market. Is beta. Subject to change.

They get the big chunk out of the way to say screw it we have it out there. Now lets fix those last few bugs over x period of time(with a small group of developers, this is why they iterate in long cycles for small changes. Like lets say every, 3 months)

While they have the small "milton" type characters working on the updates, the main build team moves on to the next big project... I guarantee this is how google works. Main buld team is on the Jelly bean platform as we speak. They have been since the lauch of ICS.

ICS is being handled now by, you guessed it. Milton, and they definitely took his stapler.

Bob Slydell: Milton Waddams.
Dom Portwood: Who's he?
Bob Porter: You know, squirrely looking guy, mumbles a lot.
Dom Portwood: Oh, yeah.
Bob Slydell: Yeah, we can't actually find a record of him being a current employee here.
Bob Porter: I looked into it more deeply and I found that apparently what happened is that he was laid off five years ago and no one ever told him about it; but through some kind of glitch in the payroll department, he still gets a paycheck.
Bob Slydell: So we just went ahead and fixed the glitch.
Bill Lumbergh: Great.
Dom Portwood: So, uh, Milton has been let go?
Bob Slydell: Well, just a second there, professor. We, uh, we fixed the *glitch*. So he won't be receiving a paycheck anymore, so it'll just work itself out naturally.
Bob Porter: We always like to avoid confrontation, whenever possible. Problem is solved from your end.

Milton Waddams: [talking on the phone] And I said, I don't care if they lay me off either, because I told, I told Bill that if they move my desk one more time, then, then I'm, I'm quitting, I'm going to quit. And, and I told Don too, because they've moved my desk four times already this year, and I used to be over by the window, and I could see the squirrels, and they were married, but then, they switched from the Swingline to the Boston stapler, but I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn't bind up as much, and I kept the staples for the Swingline stapler and it's not okay because if they take my stapler then I'll set the building on fire...

I quote lines from Office Space more times than all other movies combined. LOL! It's my wife's and my favorite comedy and we've watched it countless times. AAMOF, unbeknownst to each other, we each bought each other the red Swingline stapler a few years ago, for Christmas. I guess great minds DO think alike... :) IMO the movie is pure comedic genius and all the actors did a great job in their respective roles. Could Lumberg (spelling???) or that little twit that worked with Jennifer Aniston at the restaurant be any more annoying?? and there's the gal that answers the phone at the beginning in her sing-song voice. Gotta love a movie with characters that we all love to hate! The "Bobs". LOL!

Mr. Mom is good for some quotable quotes, as well. "220/221--whatever it takes". "how about a trim on that mustache, RON??"

I read once you go to ics you can not flash back to 5.9.905. I am have flashbacks to all those user who took the 5.7 cheesecake and could not easily get back.

As of now you can't, but still worth it to have fully functional ICS.

I assume new ROMs should be coming out in the next couple weeks!!

EDIT: If I install bootstrap and then install a current ICS Rom will it be fully functional??

Got it loaded up now. Too impatient. Trusting that the developers will come up with a way to revert if we need to lol. Pretty cool so far.

Is the video camera for both cameras functional? Notice any difference on signal?

I've downloaded the zip and I'm probably gonna flash it. The 905 update is not that good in terms of holding 4g so I figure why not flash it if everything is working.

Flashing back to stock now, was rooting a problem?

I've heard rooting isn't a problem but you can't fxz back to.905 so if this build turns out to be a dead end you may have a hard time getting back on the upgrade path and the official ICS when it comes out. I think I would wait a month or two for the final ROM or at least till someone figures out how to get back to .905

*Edit* I have now ran across a couple of posts saying it is possible to get back to .902 via the pathsaver method over at http://www.droidforums.net/forum/motorola-droid-bionic/212921-new-ics-leak-bionic-15.html

I keep seeing in post comments that this ics build for the bionic has the processor clocked at 1.2 GHz just like the RAZR. That's sweet if it's true.

Lol - I said that at least 5 times in the last 6 months that this was going to happen - just like on the OG Droid being bumped to 800 when the official FroYo was released....

Flashing now. I'm doing the 6.7.2233 build instead of the 2231 build. Keep yer fingers crossed.
