Ban the Band You Can't Stand

I’m not talking about the act/group/band that you can barely tolerate if there’s nothing else to listen to.

I’m talking about the act that:

    1. Causes an involuntary gag reflex.

    2. Sounds like a gunny sack holding a cat fighting with a raccoon.

    3. Reminds you of Margaret Hamilton’s fingernails being dragged across the blackboard.

    4. If this band came on the radio, you would instantly and randomly hit ANY button to change the channel, even if it meant you might end up listening to Miley Cyrus or Rush Limbaugh.

    5. If you were in a coma on life support and this band started playing, you would come back to life, tear out the IV’s just long enough to change the channel.

So this is serious. Who makes your ears bleed?

    I’ll start with

    Maroon 5
    Nickelback
    Fleetwood Mac
    Rihanna (see no. 2)

    Go at it!

Damn, you beat me with Nickelback, that would have been my first choice.
The rest of your list, I have no qualms about.
Honestly, most music, no matter how vial to some, doesn't bother me that much.
One of them is that band who won on School of Rock. They were ridiculously bad. Wish I could find a video (all I remember was that mesh, cutoff shirt).

Man, now I want to watch that movie!
And I know you put Fleetwood Mac on your list, but you have to admit this song is the sex.

Nope. Nooooo. No way. Not going to click that link. ;)

I could only stand it in School of Rock because Jack Black was satirizing the melodramatic, pseudo-seriousness and lameness of that song, let alone Stevie :p:musicus:

But I can watch that movie countless times and crack up like it was the first viewing.

Hey! I like Nickelback. Yes, I'm also well aware of the fact that their songs almost all sound alike.

I turn the station/channel as soon as one of the new Lionel Ritchie duet songs comes on. :puke:

Heya BB. :itsme: LOL I remember you like Nickelback, from when I suggested a browser plug-in that blocked all stories about Nickelback...and the Kardashians.

Nice add on Lionel Ritchie ;)

A lot of flack is taken for this, but there's two things I can't stand about these bands: The voices singing, and the constant bombarding of overplay for the last 30 years.

I simply cannot stand to hear any more Led Zep or Rush ever again.
I kid you not, our classic rock station here plays a song from both at least hourly. I havce never liked either anyway, but it's sickening having no choice but to hear it at work all day. Can only get 3 stations inside the building, and the other 2 are current pop crap (Britney, Kesha, Adele, that kind of stuff).

You and I are on the same page. I used to live for Zeppelin and other bands from that era. Now I can't stand it. And you mentioned a few of my least favorite pop acts also. Kesha...sounds like a valley girl who's rich daddy like paid for her radio slot, like totally. Adele...clearly talented but that rasp/break in her voice is used in every verse and it went from unique to incredibly annoying in a matter of weeks.

Funny tweet from David Grohl, but i think he meant his band..
I'm not a fan of bands make comments like that.. I also just think their music is boring

I am a pretty big music person and like just about anything... but Bieber ... yea he can just stop making music and focus more on his beauty products for women.. really?
