Started at the unlockr and first thing to do is setup ADB.

so i download the sdk kit and extract it to my C drive.

now...getting ready to install files to my phone...nope!
since i have windows 7 it says i need to get HTCsync.

so now i have to grab that.
i install it and yet i have to branch out again to get htc drivers and manually update the drivers for windows 7.

i wonder how long the rest of the process is going to take? lol

im guessing this is the only extra process because of windows 7.

No, you don't.

No, it isn't.

In short: you're doing something wrong. All you need is the Android SDK and the default USB drivers that are listed as one of the downloadable content.

Rooting isnt tough, but it does take some time, especially if you are new to it. That said, you don't really seem to have your hart into it. You should really be relishing the whole project. If you are already feeling overwhelmed or that it is a pain, I suggest you just stop now. Rooting is not for you in my opinion. Also, I don't know what HTSsync is...I didnt use anything like that. All, I needed was the SDK (for the USB drivers), and then the Recovery image, ROM, and GApps package.

You are definitely doing something wrong & you are also posting in the wrong section of this forum. Post your problems & look for solutions in the Rooting section of the Nexus 1 forum.

It isn't an easy process for those new to it (I cannot remember how to type the commands to flash a new radio LOL) but follow the guide in the above section & it should be not too difficult (if I can do it, anybody can :D)
