Ladies & Gentlemen welcome to Starship Triumph. A CM7 based Rom built from Source using G60 final as a base. Heavily Tweaked and designed to be lite-weight, fast and efficient like any good Starship should.

THANKS

The usual cast of characters, Tickerguy, isaacj87, mantera, ziggy46, Austrie, Whyzor, Mobstergunz, b_randon14, Jaay Dogg and of curse the Madman G60.

Tweaks & Features

Faster GPS fix. (The previous GPS.conf fix now in conjunction with G60's BoardConfig fix for the knockout punch!)

Different set of Minfree Values so will run a couple less apps in the background,

Modified a few buffer sizes,

Increased scrolling speed just a bit,

increased image display quality ,

Decreased outgoing call pause duration,

A few battery saving tricks like wifi will scan for a network every 180 seconds instead of 90,

Almost forgot, is Themed out the wazoo!

Issues (Slandered expected CM7 issues)

HDMI does not work (Maybe one day but until that day I say its worth the trade.)

BT or Wi-Fi enabled will prevent deep sleep mode. (Toggle, Toggle, Toggle)

Some videos in portrait mode flickers.

Instructions

1, Download and place zip on SD-Card.

2, Boot into Recovery.

3, select "wipe data/factory reset"

4, Under Mounts and storage select "format /system".

5, Under advanced select "wipe Dalvik cache"

6, select "install zip from sdcard"

7, select "choose zip from sdcard"

8, select "Starship_Triumph.zip" from the available list of files.

9, select "yes install Starship_Triumph.zip"

10, select "reboot system now" and its blast off time.

If updating from a previous version skip step 3 but wipe cache in its place.

Will need to Flash Gapps again if coming from another version.

So far flashing over another CM7 Rom without doing a Data Wipe has not worked out well for many who have tried. I reailize many will still make an attempt but consider yourself warned and please consider a full data wipe before posting.

Will need to manually change the Statusbar Toggle Indicator Colour in order to complete the Theme. (Helm control / Interface / Notification power widget) Recommend entering #ffoob4ff in the text field below the selector.

what are the differences between your ROM and G60's final ?
on xda g60 said that he managed to get a very crisp video with no flickers. did you update it with the latest?

Last I did a Sync was Friday Night and as of then at least the video fix was not included. Still very new to GitHub but plan on staying in Sync with any fixes if and when they are added.. Otherwise added differences in the Op, Forum was acting odd earlier. Still is but figured it out.

G-apps are included

To-Do List

G-apps aren't included for leagle reasons on other ROMs, I would recommend that they are seperated. Other than that, Way to go!

I think that will be a good idea going forward. Had thought about it after, see them included in other Roms all the time but there is really no reason as they are not themed. Better safe then sorry.

I'm just glad to see someone else posting something over here. I thought I was alone, if you could call me even working:D
I just remember reading somewhere that the cyanogenmod team were barked at by Google for including the apps, so they posted a way to "back them up" I like the g-apps idea, because it's too easy to steal apps by the way that I know.

I don't know if you want to experiment with me, but I downloaded the Sharp port and plan to pull the drivers tonight if by build finnishes soon enough. If I find any differences using Meld (thank you g60) I'll post something.

Nice job, I like your theme; did you make it?

Thanks have actually been collecting an arsenal of images over the last few months and put the theme together jigsaw style. Hard to remember where they all came from at this point but for instance some of the camera images for flash and what not came from the sii, some keyboard images and hex colours for prediction field came from the razr, Statusbar comes via CM9 and filled my gimp colour pallet up extracting the colour used from a foreign language Blur Rom I came across. Think some of the in-call and bottom of the phone dialler images may have come from this Rom also.

Edit: Overall though it was difficult trying to match up images with Blur or non standard Stock based Roms and would often look toward CM9 for filling in Gaps. Tried to stay away from colouring anything that could not be done by just using the colourize option or just doing a bucket fill using the copy colour option mentioned above so things would stay uniform. If I could not find a matching image that I could not colour easily I would also often look for images of the same colour or that could be coloured more easily intended for another purpose like renaming and or resizing a button from a camera app and using it in the browser or framework or something along those lines, I did this allot.

Planning to give this a try. I am currently on the Sharp 2.2.2.

If I want to switch roms, do I need to do a complete factory reset in CWM? How do I restore the original apps and files?

Thanks

Coming from 2.2.2 its probably not a good idea trying to restore data. You could try backing up and restoring with Titanium but could cause some unrelated bugs even if the app you restored seems to work out OK.

Is it safe to flash this over g60's CM7?

edit: Love the theme, by the way.

In theory you should be OK but would make a backup just in case.

Hey klehman215, could you include the checksum with your builds? It would help verify the downloads.

Not be a problem, also need to look into changing the name of the output file as it is the only thing I'm still editing after the build has completed. That and the lines in the build.prop determining what displays in "About Phone" as far as Rom name and what not.

Check out my commits, there is a few files you can edit to come out with the perfect naming convention. If you want to have version control (v1, v2, etc) you will need to edit common_versions.mk each time before the build

Thanks for the response, I went ahead and boarded the starship. So far I've noticed no adverse effects due to flashing over g60's CM7 other than my boot animation is just a black screen.

Scrolling does seem slightly smoother, which was one complaint I had before.

Also I noticed a bunch of notification sounds named after stars that I don't think I had before -- I take it that was your doing? I like the naming convention, and there are some pretty nice sounds in there too. Nice touch. :)

edit: And ringtones named after constellations. Clever :)

Thanks but the notification & Ring-tone sounds I believe are all g60. Just happen to fit the theme well. Have some that I plan on adding / replacing at some point soon after a bit of editing but have not as of yet. Did replace all the nature wallpapers though, not very many landscapes or grasslands found on a Starship.

Thanks klehman for the fun ROM and contiuing with the CM7 MT legacy! One question, shouldn't we also wipe/format the cache also?

With any ROM it's a good idea to wipe and reload specially CM7. I ran into a ton of issues that I would carry over part of the previous ROM. So lets say there was a bug in g60 final and you just wiped cache and installed star ship. It's possible a new update from Cyanagonmod would not be seen because it's still using left overs from g60. I would always recommend wipe and reloaded any CM7 or CM9 for that matter. It's just best practice to make sure you are getting all the new stuff.

Rom is pretty solid. Just flashed it couple hours ago.

I did encounter a few problem. The GPS is having a hard time locking? But I can't get any navigation to work even though I turned it on.

Also, some apps don't work. It says that they arent supported from the google play store. Common apps such as Yelp is not working.
