Curious about OTA

When we get the 2.1 OTA does it come just like any APP update? Will there be a notification in the top bar and we click it, then she loads. Or does it work differently? Do you have to go through a browser to download it? Just curious.

I believe a large window pop up will appear and prompt you to update. You should be able to select an option to update or wait until later (something like that). As far as using to browser goes... if it is an OTA update then no, you won't need to do anything other than select to do the update.

There will be an agent of the government of whatever country you live in who will come to your door for a signature.

Not long after your signing the non-disclosure forms you'll receive a floppy disc in the mail, probably about two weeks on.

That disc is useless, ignore it and wait for the OTA ("Over The Air").

Ha! Hilarious Frisco.

There is an upgrade image floating around here somewhere. It's not like the updates that you get for apps. It's in your face when you turn the phone on (or wake up from sleep) one day.

You forgot the "Blacked out SUV's" showing up in front of the house.

Don't forget the all black Blackhawks they use. From what I hear, these particular Blackhawks have a silent run feature that makes them completely quiet.

That's just the Americans. People from all over the world are anticipating this update to the Eris.

The agents of the government of Canada use stealth sled dogs. Australia uses over-sized, sanded-down Foster's Ale cans. Mexico agents arrive with guns blazing. China's rickshaws still serve them well.

My favorite government agent visitation is from Finland. They use sardines cleverly disguised as cell phones.

@Frisco: Would that floppy be a 5 1/4 or 8 inch, Bud?

Wow 8" floppy? You are dating yourself ;) I think the OTA will be splattered all over this place withing 15 minutes of dropping, then there will be a big race to see who gets it first, and we all know that if you don't get it first your a loser as VZW tracks your calls and texts and a few algorithms later they have you judged on a "coolness" scale :p
