Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Morning all! Google I|O is almost here! Exciting for all us Nexus folks. (Although most of us are on VZW, which takes most of that excitement away,)

Yep, can't wait! Hoping for that N7 announcement. :D
Someone posted this on Facebook. Be prepared to seriously ROFL:

Morning all! Busy week for me - helping get all the house chores done early in the week in prep for a cruise Saturday!!! Its a 5 day to Bermuda from Jersey. Woohoo. Had some hair yanked out yesterday. Today or tomorrow is pedicure. Tomorrow is definitely manicure. Thursday is the last of the laundry. Friday is packing. (Yes, I'm a last day packer). Oh, and I get to bring my daughter for her physical which has already induced massive meltdowns because of having to have shots.

Hope everyone is staying cool!

Hmm, seems interesting. Perhaps I'll look over the changelogs. Thanks. :)

Interesting. I feel the same way about Nadal. Ever since his infamous incident where he was gnawing on the trophy of whichever Major it was that he won all those years ago, I just find him exceedingly arrogant and disrespectful. Not to mention those ridiculous capris he wears, lol.

I believe you're referring to him biting the Wimbledon trophy a few years back. Same thing Olympic Gold Medalists do when they win. But hey, if you dont' like the best tennis player since Pete Sampras, then that's on you ;) (just messin with ya)

Can't wait, I already have clearance to purchase 2 Nexus 7's, one for me and one for Evan. I'm glad to have indoctrinated introduced him to Android at a young age. He is very careful with my retired devices as well as Pam's Kindle Fire. I wanted to get him that Chipmunk's tablet that was introduced a while back but it seems it was either vaporware or they only made 6 and halted production. So he lucks out and gets a Nexus.:D

Good morning all - finally getting on this early routine and I sorta like it.

Normally I would leave for work at 8:20 and get here at 8:50ish. Now I leave my apartment (with the girlfriend) at 7:20ish, grab Starbucks, get on the 7:47 train and I am at work by 8:15-8:20 and I can catch up with last night's work before most people get in by 9AM. I feel so much more relaxed this way and I just seem more awake for some reason even though its earlier.

Trying to pick up a couch for the apartment this week - found one we really like and is super comfortable for $500 which is not bad at all. Couldn't believe how expensive some couches were though.

As a developer I am even more excited than usual. I can't wait to see what Google has planned as far as APIs and developer classes and such. The fact that they are streaming online and offering playback is stellar.

Morning Stigy. We're still couch shopping. Couple years ago we got this Ikea one. Funny story for those who don't know how Ikea works, you pick out what you want in the showroom and then get the matching box in the warehouse. Well, we got the couch and then slipcover. Get it delivered, start putting it together and realize we got the love seat, not the regular one. So, we're still dealing with this tiny couch.
Wife's boss got us a huge gift certificate to a fancy furniture store so we could get a new one. Problem is, it's nearly impossible to find one that can fit through our doorway.

Oh yeah, I like it too. One of my other favorites is Miley Cyrus' Party in the USA. Love it! :p:D And, of course, who can forget Friday. :)

Oh who could ever hate Friday! It's a song about everyone's favorite day of the week. My wife likes to throw her own twist on that one by mashing the words up with Justin Beiber's "Baby" ...she didn't intentionally do it at first but found it worked, so she kept it, lol.

Morning all....stigy looks like we have the sectional version of that same couch...and yup agree on the cost of a couch. Jeez.

Also agree with the excitement about Google I/O. Looking forward to what they will be showing.
I also have permission/demand coming from the family to buy an N7. Looks like my future brother in law has been convinced to get one as well...so anyone in the family will be able to beam etc!! It will be great to have a new portable device in the house too!!
Hope everyone has a great week....

Wedding update:
[Hide] we got our engagement shots back yesterday, but the site is password protected, pm me if interested, but we are not sharing publicly yet (still have that pesky issue of finding new jobs first)...as soon as we get the full DVD I will post a few. Also meeting with a possible Officiant this evening after work. That is the last piece that had not been arranged yet, so will feel better as soon as that is done.[/spoiler]

Good morning all! I hear ya on the prices of a couch, Stigy. Wife and I bought a leather sectional last year and it wasn't exactly cheap.

I started my exercise routine this morning. Some of you may remember that I've mentioned bikeriding before. It's very difficult to get motivated to do it when I get home from work so I got up early and went for a ride this morning. A storm front came through last night and temps are supposed to be in the 80's for the next few days. It was a beautiful, cool, sunny, and NOT HUMID  day and the bikeride was wonderful. I got up at 6:00 AM but was only able to ride about 7 miles due to the time. I'll get better/faster as I get used to the morning routine.

Speaking of storm fronts, we got some thunderstorms last night. Of course, since it's NC, they were cleassified as Severe. The majority of them formed just south of us so we didn't get the worst of it, but the thunder still upset my poor dog Molly, who's terrified of them. We put on her Thundershirt and my wife snapped a pic with her iSheep device. It's not the clearest pic as Molly wouldn't sit still, but she's so cute in her Thundershirt!

I love IKEA stuff, but the furniture store near us is having a July 4th sale so dropping stuff 20% so $500 for a full size (86") couch is a nice deal. I wanted the IKEA couch with the chaise, but it only game in blue, and that doesn't match at all.

Is it the Bianca from Jennifer Convertibles? We were looking at the loveseat, but for $100 more we splurged on the couch.

I need to start advertising some of my photography work - I would love to try and do some engagement shoots or more portrait stuff. Automotive photography has become very repetitive and shooting the same angles with different cars becomes a bit boring over time.

Ryan - can you shoot me a PM with the password? Would love to see some examples of engagement photography. Thanks buddy!

BTW there is a woot-off going over at Woot for those who want to kill some time on some cheap products.

You have found a Woot-Off, a short term frenzied mutation of our product posting procedure. In Woot-Off mode, a new product is launched immediately after the sellout of the previous deal. There is a half-Woot-life of 12 hours maximum on any product within a Woot-Off that does not sell out. The number of Woot-Off items, sequence and quantity will not be announced. When Woot-Off mode is over, the orange lights will disappear and our normal schedule will resume.

Yeah, it's about 20 min from us (granted, depending on what insane traffic is in DC). I actually work very close to it on the border of NW DC.

Cool, one of my college's star baseball players is playing summer ball for the Bethesda Big Train. He's lighting it up over there. Leading the league with 6 HRs in 12 games.

Good morning Gnexers!

WOW, technology is so great: I got a 720p Skype camera for our Smart TV, and Skyped our son's Nexus in another town. It was great watching him on the big screen so we could all see him without crowding around a phone or laptop... and he could see and hear our whole living room.

Could anyone have even dreamed of this 20 years ago? Well, picture phones were close... but this just ramps it up a few levels.

Anyway, on to the SGS3 countdown... 2 weeks to go and the Darling Bride quits asking me how to work her Droid over and over again!

Then she'll ask me how to work her SGS3 over and over again
