While I think this is much improved over the old app I can't help but be a little concerned they may want to lock out mobile access to the forums unless you use their own Phandroid app with TT once it comes on line. I do not want to have to have another version of TT JUST to access this forum.
But good job with the news app guys!

I haven't heard anything along those lines. As far as I'm aware, the main tapatalk app will always work here, regardless of what happens with our own branded tapatalk app.

Same here. Just something cheaper than TT for folks that only want a forum app for AF. For those (like me) that already purchased TT no need to buy another app.

That's reassuring to know! I know tapatalk was disabled at one time so that's where my concern was as the whole purpose of tapatalk is the ability to access multiple forums with one app.
Great work, keep it up!:)

I know that widget design is something they want feedback on; what do you (and everyone else) want to see?

As far as the widget for the app as is goes, I'm not sure it's something most people really need or want to use valuable resources on, I just don't need to know every time a new article is posted and can't really see the purpose of including or using it, but maybe I'm missing something here? I just can't understand what it would be.

When i click on an article it just sits there at the loading progress window and the article never comes up. Got the updated version yesterday that was suppose to fix this. Worked right after the update but hasn't worked since.

Have you tried clearing the cache in the app? Perhaps even clear the data real quick? Seems to help me some.

Not sure if you know this now or not since I am really late to the thread but we are planning to have three versions in the end.

1) Phandroid News (what is on the market now)
2) Our own flavor of TT (they do it well so we will work with them)
3) Phandroid News + TT (essentially for users of both Phandroid and AF)

When you first think about it this seems to be overkill but I think it will be good for all types of users. If you just want news.. you got it.. if you just want forums.. you got it and if you want it all.. you got it.

Another note, if you have any issues with the current app you can email email out support email (linked in the Play Store) or you can simply post here or even start a new thread if you think its worth it. I am the main developer so will be able to help you with anything you need regarding the Phandroid News app..or future apps.

Sorry for the late involvement in this thread...

Steve

I apologize if this has been suggested before. I accidentally posted this suggestion in a thread in the wrong forum earlier, so I'm just moving it over here.

I have a suggestion for the mobile phandroid app. Something that bugs me is links in the in-app news articles. Sometimes, I'll come across a link while reading one of the articles in the phandroid app, a link to something in the phandroid site. But it still catches me off guard when I'm asked which browser I want to use to view that link.

I think it would be a great enhancement if the app could automatically detect links that direct you to a phandroid page, and open that page in the app when selected. It may seem like a small feature for a lot of work, but I think it would create more of a seamless experience.

This should work 90% of the time. The other 10% is from links breaking our logic which we do plan on fixing. I very rarely see this not work.. does this happen often?.. if so can you provide examples so I can see if its consistent to what I see?

Thanks,

Steve

On my phone, I commonly use the Phandroid app. I dislike using mobile browsers for sites such as forums.

I regularly check the news section, and occasionally, there will be a link inside an article to another news article from Phandroid. My phone does recognize every link. However, I am forced to open the link in a browser, rather than opening the link in the app itself.
