Android 2.3 & 4.0 WiFi Internet HD 1080P HDMI Google TV Box ARM Cortex A9 Firmware

this camera works for picture taking and video in native app. video plays back in movieplayer no problem...don't know about microphone. skype test failed for audio so. and my mic port doesnt work nor front mic input. but thats kernel related and next release. but this camera quality is not the best. not bad for $2.50 tho! :) good design too. and microphone will work on c03ref when you release next firmware with usb audio fixed.
-but this camera isn't always stable. when trying out different camera apps and opencv applications, things started going poorly. all the opencv apps crash upon open and then the device crashed. restart and its good again. camera works fine in native app tho.

UPDATE: No skype with this cheapo camera. lame...

Stane1983, will your kernel allow for loading of a different v4l module? i have a few around here somewhere...

i also just noticed some usb audio errors in logcat when trying to use skype...

I have installed

20120621_Android_ICS-ATV-108-c03ref.zip

but it doesn't have any of the google apps (gmail, play store, etc...).

Can they be installed somehow?

Thanks!

Gapps are not installed, each app you want you have to download from market (play store). I believe you have Market icon in your app drawer which will be automatically upgraded to Play Store after you enter your credentials... :)

So much more stuff to add/fix than that stupid netflix...
BT
Audio
Remote
Cursor size and issue
resolution
de_dust 2
sd card mount
netflix should be the last thing to think about, since this is 90% netflix's fault and not the rom.

Agree. Current status:

- sdcard issue solved
- improved LatinIME, now using one from CyanogenMod 9, added Greek and some other keyboards
- audio & remote testing right now
- isolated problem with cursor issue, should not happen again, about 1080, still no proper solution... just crossed my mind, will try to do one little hack :)
- Will try to enable BT core and drivers for few chipsets, will see how it goes... I do have one BT canyon stick, don't know what chip on it, but will try.
- de_dust 2 is.....? :)

UPDATE: I'm experiencing this on stock fw as well, how about you?

Hi stane, I didn't experienced any audio noise on stock firmware, the problem started with your last fw update for f16ref board.
What about the video playback not smooth like before with the video getting jerky? Did u experiencing the same issue? I can confirm that my USB camera is working but I have no mic integrated so how can I reproduce the voice for example on Skype? Is possible to use the mic integrated with the ATV 108 f16ref if any?

ATV-108 f16ref does not have integrated mic nor mic-in jack. You can use usb headset for example.

About video reproduction quality, will see what's going on... I have original Visson fw 05-02 (with similar issues as mine fw). If you have newer, feel free to share, I don't have newer at the moment. From fw I can extract kernel configuration, that might helpful.

OK.

Think I bricked my c03ref. :D

All I did is reboot holding the reset button, to flash firmware as I have done multiple times. It complained about not being able to mount the SD card, flash failed and now just black screen.

Any way to fix this?

c03ref is not a problem, f16ref is.... :) Just create recovery sdcard, reinsert it to your computer and copy all firmware files to it. After that do a normal fw upgrade with paperclip procedure...

See faq how to create recovery sd. If having problems or not having windows xp machine, pm me.

And yeah, don't use that sdcard in f16ref when upgrading fw :)

Some of the users of the forum recover the device successfully with the SDTool software. I think is mandatory use a SD card (nor SDHDC, Micro-SD, XD) and Windows XP.

I'm trying with a 256MB SD CARD and SDTool doesn't run, the followed steps are:
- Format SD Card in Fat32.
- Run the SD Tool.
- Browse to the uboot image inside the folder 20120621_android_ICS-ATV-108-c03ref (previously download in zip package from this link (download c03ref zip file).
- Select the SD virtual device in the SD Card list (in my case F:).
- Press the Make SDCard.
- In my case nothing happens, the progress bar doesn't progress and the button is always enabled to another click (without any execution).

At this point I wondering if the size of the SD has to be more than 256GB or if anybody is experiencing the same issue with SDTool.

Taking into account my failed intents, I'm considering to follow a Linux-based solution.

Probably you are going to avoid Windows-stuff with the "traditionall-mode".

I'm going to try and then report the results.

Good Luck!

Hello

I've this model which looks like a clone of ZAP A9, the one CoyoteX has.

Coyotex, could you confirm that Slane firmware works in this model? I'm a very basic user, so no need to Chainfire or Busybox. I think superuser is enough for using Titanium.

I've got HDMI output connected ot my TV, but I would like to have 5:1 sound connected to my amplifier. I don't have an YUV cable, what kind of cable should I buy?

Best Regard

Stane is doing great job... ;)
well, as I can see stane's firmware was downloaded 513 (c03ref) + 49 (f16ref) times.. almost 600 people are using stane's firmware for Amlogic platform.
You (all of you) made over 50GB traffic. And as Stane told me - only few of you (7-8) guys bought him beers to suuport him..and only few clicks on ads (on V play download section web)

There is server cost, bandwith cost... and stane is spending a lot of time on developement, and here on forum to help you.. Firmware is currently free and it would be nice if everyone who downloaded Stane's firmware buy few beers for him :)

There are ads on V-play download section... so you can support him by clicking on ads also.

If you like Stane's firmware and if you want to see new releases for free it would be nice to support stane in any way you can (buy him beer and/or click on ads on V-play download section)

Thanks to everyone who supported Stane!

V-Play download section

You know..my friend, from one side you are right, if all that 600 people would buy one (only) beer, (which amount is nothing) would be enough money collected..but I think the way of your counting is not right.
For example, me, I downloaded and tested all Stane's firmwares but none of them resolved my streaming video reproduction problem, therefore I moved back to mediafire's. Maybe there are many guys like me.
From the other side, cost of one beer is so low, everybody could donate 1$ for development, but what to say..not all people thinking the same way..
Anyway, I would like to ask, where is the ads, I do not see them.
I hope my terrible English are understandable..

I used microSD card 256Mb with adapter and recovering was successful. file mou.

Then I'm very unlucky guy... I tryed with micro-sd, sdhc and today with a SD 256MB and SDTool doesn't work...

I just obtain some feedback of the APP when I've executed SDTool with admin privileges in Windows 7 + Windows XP compatibility mode with a SDHC (16GB)... at least the button becomes gray after click and the progress bar reach the right boundary... a lot of error dialogues appear during the executing but it seems that eh APP was alive instead other cases with Windows XP!

Any suggestion!?

USB Audio is disabled on c03ref fw because of problems with compiling the kernel that's why you don't have mic working. Will be enabled in next release :) It's enabled in f16ref and working as it should, mic does not depend on camera, you can use it anywhere and it works while camera is not working.

Did you tested same cam on same position and same light amount connected to PC? I think exposure is related to cam - in most cases it's set to auto-mode.
exposure on Canyon CNR-WCAM613G I tested was working good (auto adjusting) on c03ref.

webcam mic will be working for google search... etc.. when Stane fix bug related to USB-audio :) (it's working on f16ref)
...stay tuned ;)

Oh, by the way... is there anyway to force Exposure level on the webcam ? Because my problem is that when I use Skype for example, I cannot change it and it's very dark... if I use the "Camera" app, when I take pictures I can change it and works better, but when I use video, it doesn't allow me to change it either....

So, is there any way to change that value for everything ?

Thanks.

Just hints:

- Try on another Win XP machine (clean install if possible)
- Try another SD card reader
- Try another SD card (some SDHC works - some doesn't - avoid SDHC if possible)

Don't use Windows 7, use Windows XP and use small non SDHC cards. If you can't get to the Windows XP machine, install some hex editor which will allow you to clone image file to physical media (sdcard), I use WinHex.

Now, download this:
Download recovery.zip from Sendspace.com - send big files the easy way

Extract it (it will be 2 Gb in size when extracted) and clone this image to physical medium (sdcard). This image is for 2Gb sdcard, will work with larger cards, but you will have to reformat it after recovery to get back additional Gigabytes... If any problems, pm me.

I don't think it's possible, I think skype sholud implement that feature.
but we'll see... I'll put on ToDo list...
