Moving apps from S2 to S3

Since I have had the S2 I have never backed it up using Kies and now it wont let me do so, I have tried everything but it goes through the backing up process and then right at the end says 'incomplete'.

I was going to back up my apps then move them to the S3, is there another way to do this?

Have you downloaded all your apps from Google Play? If yes, congrats. You're already done. Get new phone, log in to google and all apps auto load.

If you use Google Play and you use the same account on the S3 as the S2, the moment you activate and start up the S3 and enter your Google account, it should ask if you want to automatically install the apps. Google Play knows what apps you have on your devices and if you activate a new device with the same account, it can automatically install all the apps. What it does not do is retain the app data. If you have a high score on a game, it will not be moved over. If you set up your social network apps to auto login, you will need to manually log in and set it up again on your new device.

If you say no to the automatic installation, you will have to manually install them yourself later. Any apps you have already purchased can be installed without needing to purchase them again. Google Play remembers which apps you bought and will allow you to install them on any device of with that account after purchasing them the first time.
