[Verizon] [ROM]JDX (formerly Jelly Belly) AOSP+ - v15 (7/28)

While I do miss AOKP features and customization, this is still winning for me. With the newly released WiFi fix I'm keeping this on my phone until AOKP and other ROMs have a shot at it (and I'm sure they'll be out within 2-3 weeks here). This thing is beautiful. I am in love with Google Now and Voice. I don't feel like I'm talking to artificial intelligence just to talk to it and ask it silly questions. When I need to find something, I speak it. No command strings or anything of the sort.

I'm traveling to Washington, D.C. this weekend and I'll be testing this out for my entire trip. Everything is working fine. The battery life isn't the best, but that's why I keep a spare on me. Google has done it again!

I agree on all fronts!

Be sure to post your experience after testing as it will help those teetering!

Wow really? I think, in the details, it's very different visually. Different transitions, different fonts (not throughout as Roboto is still abundant), different pull down, different lockscreen graphics, different wallpapers (cool btw :)), different apps, live walls run great FINALLY!, new gestures (hold your home button), new navbar softkey that points downward, I can go on :D

Actually you're right. My bad!

I am still not able to take it all in at once. I'm still very overwhelmed by the Keynote presentation yesterday, and still can't wrap my head around everything. I'm also at work, so I can only play with it so much. I have a 6 hour bus-ride down to DC tonight, so I'll have plenty of time to mess with it then.

But if there is any doubt, cast it out. This is a solid stock release. If you simply follow the steps given you won't have any issues. I flashed the Visciouz/Liquid ROM, Franco's kernel, and the WiFi fix---I am issue free!

Wow, it seems like absolutely no one has any issues with JB so far.. I can't wait to flash it when I get off work tonight! Do anyone know if I can keep fast-charge enabled if I flash this JB ROM? I'm running Leankernel 3.9 and have Leantweaks installed. I'm just not sure if I can only use Leantweaks to toggle fast charge or not. This is an important feature to me and I'd rather not lose it.

TIA!

That is a good question. Maybe you can flash and test it out as I have not seen any reports of users talking about fast charge and lean tweaks. My guess would be, atm, no. This is a purely stock JB port for toro. It's actually a nandroid made into a flashable zip and then ported to our phones (toro). It won't be too long till you can get a fully customizable custom ROM though I wouldn't think. (I'm talking about JD's build I have no idea about the Liquid/Vicious port)

That's probably why I like it so much, as I have stuck to stock ROMs, so not missing any of the custom tweaks some of you enjoy. I honestly think Android just passed iOS in the one area it was lagging, OS navigation speed. It's almost as if it's too fast, and feel like I'm the one slowing it down. :p

+1 Like I said before, as I interact with my phone I have this huge smug grin on my face and catch myself laughing at it's speed. I feel as if I now own the Galaxy Nexus II LTE Ultra

Seems like most are reporting lack of deep sleep on JD's rom so far. I'm not having that issue on Liquid. Just the wifi problem but the xda fix takes care of that so I'm in a total state of win right now. One thing I miss is the ability to separate ringtone/notification volume. Can't believe they didn't make that option available this time around.

One carryover bug I see from ICS (for me at least) is the dialer bug where I have a difficult time using the keypad during an active call. Screen turns on/off when I try to press the buttons evidently related to the prox sensor...which should be disabled in keypad entry mode. Minor annoyance but a real PIA on automated phone calls. Hope Google fixes that one.

Making a nandroid now, but worried about the battery life issue. How bad?

I wouldn't call it an issue just yet. I just wanted to report what I'm finding so far. It's too early to tell and I'm hammering my phone with play time. Also, note that I'm used to the super refined kernels for ICS and my battery life is stellar so that's what I'm used to and going off of. Try it, you won't be sorry. If you don't like it restore your backup no harm done, right!

I have flashed 2.1. Needed to flash the wifi fix though as it was apparent that signal and wifi signal were weak. So far so good!

Next issue was that after a reboot, I was stuck at the Google logo. This was after having rebooted already a few times, weird. I read on Rootzwiki that you need to wipe cache when/if that happens, so I did. Will keep y'all posted if it happens again. I had just setup Lightflow prior to the reboot, so not sure if that may have caused it or not.
