Signal Boosters

App's called "Signal Booster." lol

There are a few of them out there, but the one I use is the one with the purple andriod logo.

I doubt that it does. I'd look into a few of the network monitors to see what your db level is and try it out, but I really doubt any of them do. Upping the output power on your phone won't matter in most circumstances, as 90% of the time it's not a question of where the tower is compared to you, but how stacked that tower is in requests/transmissions.
Metro's getting bigger, but they've still got a LOT of ground to cover before they stop leasing towers from other providers and get their own. One of those towers alone costs well over 5 million dollars and covers an area of about 5 -15 miles depending on interference.
So you can imagine how long it'll be before they get anywhere near large enough to support the amount of people they're trying to draw in.

I like the stick on antenna "boosters" that you can get from some phone stores for like $5. Everyone says they are BS but I have ALWAYS gotten better signal in my house (which is usually where I get the worst reception and its a good benchmark spot). And hell, for $5 how can you go wrong.

Those word by producing a Ferdinand type barrier on your antenna, blocking the weaker signals and electronic noise that is not in the cell wavelength..... so I could see them helping a bit. But the op was asking about an app

I realize that. But he is asking the impossible, I thought I would offer a practical, cheap and at least somewhat possible alternative. I can not see any possible way of an app strengthening signal, short of one that lets you choose which cell tower you operated from (either impossible, impractical or both), OR by upping the wattages for your cell antennas (which I do not believe the android system lets you, would endanger your antennas even if they could, do to over-volting or overheating, and or would only produce an almost meaningless boost since the reception would need to be boosted as well and no app is hacking into cell antennas ;) )

The Signal Booster apps , Are like a widget/notification on your taskbar/notification bar , They go on top of your signal and make it look like , WOW! But it is actually nothing , You might not be able to call due to low signal but you see 4 bars! Wow! It's a scam , some people pay for the premium ones and then they got scammed , so be a smart kid and know right from wrong , and scams from awesome products

I also tried them on the Samsung admire , when I had it , and it didn't do nothing , and I just learned , SOME SIGNAL BOOSTERS they hack into the phones files and change the signal animation on your notification bar , and it makes it look WOW and sometimes you uninstall it and it doesn't come off!

Yeah on that Admire we were trying everything we could think of to get decent speeds, signals & just decent performance. What a difference, huh?

The app you linked only works if you are stationary... it just locks you to the fastest tower near you ATM....
Oh, and it just force closes and turns airplane mode on for me....
but what screencap app did you use for those vids?

The apps in the video work when moving as they ping the tower, and the app that was used is called screencast.
As for the other app force closing, couldn't tell you...never had that issue.
