Phandroid and Androidforums.com's New Look!

Blah. I like "thanks" feature more than "likes". How about we keep the "Thanks" and rename it "Like"? But I'm fine with whatever the masses choose.

FYI... Wi-Fi here SUCKS! Right after IO keynote ends we're running back to the hotel to get up some vids from the event.

I'd like to see "like" go away and keep "thanks" like it is for the simple reason that "like" seems to say "Facebook want to be"!:D

it looks as bad as isource now!

Ha! It's funny how people's tastes and preferences in design are so different. For the most part feedback on this design has been very positive, but of course there are going to be some who dislike the changes. I think the key is that it's viewed by the MAJORITY as an improvement.

And I still like iSource's design... but it does need some touch upification.

While I like the header and the drop down tabs, the white background just leaves me with a feeling that this site has gotten clean on me. The best way to describe my feelings are, this site offers to help others with rooting their phones, offering support, trouble shooting if things go bad, along with numerous other things. So I look at this site as being on some type of cutting edge, technology wise, people come here to get real help with real problems and in return we get a sterile white background. A site that's on the cutting edge can certainly do better than that !!!

Care to take a screenshot with a little note pointing to what you mean? Kinda curious...

I think this is what is being referred to (see the blue X's on the outside edges). I know I would like to see it darker to make the site easier on the eyes as well as focus on the content in the center.

Agree with the last post - but to mke it even more readable, I'd like an alternate skin developed for hte board that simply resizes the middle 'column' to, say, something like 80% or 90% of the user's screen width - so that it automatically goes widescreen for those of us who have ws monitors.

The best would be a dark skin / theme that is also ws...

For ideas, I can capture various screenshots from my former home away from home (sevenforums) on how it looks both with a stock ws skin as well as a dark ws skin....

I agree. While I'm not a web designer, I have created a handful of pages, and the whole idea of designing a page that doesn't adapt to the size of the display seems ludicrous. The tiny text that doesn't get bigger when I zoom in Chrome (the only site I've come across like this), combined with margins with a combined width that is wider than the content drives me nuts.

The issues with Chrome weren't intended.

Try Firefox for now, it may be more satisfactory.

The title of this thread is "Phandroid and Androidforum.com's New Look!" (emphasis added). Am I the only one who thinks it odd that this site (Androidforum) now carries the logo of Phandroid (a totally different site)? BTW, the purple outline around the Phandroid graphic is at odds with the site color scheme (i.e., it's not used anywhere else).

One additional suggestion, which I think someone mentioned a couple pages back... please add some delay to the mouseover action on the blue navigation banner (HOME, CARRIERS, PHONE, etc.) at the top of each page. It is extremely annoying to have it instantly expand when just moving your mouse pointer to some other area of the screen. This is a very easy fix in Javascript.

Android forum is the forum division of phandroid.

We used to have separate logos for each site.

If we're going to persist in one logo, I still think that Home needs to go away as redundant on both sites and Forums needs to slide over and take its place.
