I am curious though, did they actually release the media dock? Does it have a decent HDMI connection?
TIA

Sooooooo, you don't think the graph has anything to do with the Rezound being a resounding failure as a device? Word of mouth very likely has had a significantly dampind effect on sales. I know I, for one, have told a hundred people how disappointing this product is. I have owned 7 Androids, and the Rezound is easily the worst.
If the Rezound was a "popular" model, you know it would be rocking ICS right now.
If the Rezound was a "popular" model, you know it would be rocking ICS right now.
Who cares if it is a "popular" phone.
.What I'm hearing is a lot of antimainstream-hipster / 10th-grade-don't-care-what-anyone-else-thinks talk. I never said anything about being concerned with what people thought. I posted this because it gave us some real numbers, as opposed to pure conjecture, about the popularity of phone models.
Like some others here, I believe the Rezound is the best phone on the VZW, and I believe HTC is the best manufacturer. I do care very much about the perceptions and misconceptions of Android, and as long as people keep buying sub-par models (and OEMs keep making them) then it puts a huge crimp in the way Android is accepted. Why do I care about how Android is perceived? Because it affects 3rd party support (developers and accessories makers) of the phone I spent hundreds on.
The popularity and acceptance of the Rezound does in fact go well beyond petty social status, as many of you were inclined to repeat. There's an issue with the model being popular enough to have device-specific accesories made for it. Note how a popular brand of screen protector passed on the Rezound Also, thinking long term, how well is this model going to be supported by developers when it is 2yrs plus? It is absolutely legitimate to be concerned with popularity when it can easily affect the utility of the device.
Next time I'll be sure to spell things out a little more so we can get to discussions with substance.
I'll try i- and hope for better results.
HTC? Never again. Samsung? Never again. Droid? Never say never, but I won't be burned by listening to the phanboys on this site any more. I'll try i- and hope for better results.Yah - seven (with several dupes - me being the biggest dupe). I had a T-Mob G1's, then two HTC Incredibles, two Samsung Droid Charges and now two HTC Rezounds; in each of the last six, I brought the droid in to a VZN shop and demonstrated its failures and was given a replacement. FIVE "free" replacements in 18 months. The most recent phone (my previous Rezound) never even booted up.
What problems do I have?
Well, Apps force-close with the frequency of books closing on the last day of school.
The cursor can't be set to a specific point on a screen (editing ANYTHING is impossible).
Navigation App says I don't have any contacts with addresses.
Notification Bar disappears until I pull the battery.
Alien wallpaper suddenly appears until I pull the battery.
"Phone" app goes haywire (Watchdog shows it routinely using 90-98% of resources) until I pull the battery.
On average it requires 8 steps (E-I-G-H-T) to connect to a Bluetooth device. Or pull battery.
...and once connected, fully half of my calls are BT-dropped - and I have five different BT devices; same problem with all of five of them (including my Acura-built-in, which works reasonably well with the previous droids - and even a few business Blackberries).
Frequent loss of widgets (some temporarily - some permanently) until I pull the battery.
(Beginning to see a pattern? I pull the battery 5-10 times a day)
Screen is way, way too sensitive - hover within a quarter inch of the screen and it will act as if I actually touched the screen.
Extraordinarily soft screen - I scratched it (somehow???) within two days of it being delivered - before I could get a screen-shield. Who cares. No big deal, but, really. Cheeeeeeeeap!
Voicemail number resets sporadically.
Arcane screenshot process. Tell me YOU know how to do it - and CAN do it.
Phone temperature runs burningly hot. I put my phone in the freezer now when I get home -(but it melts the Haags!)
So - oh, wait, I get it, you just listen to muzak on your zound. There are lots of people who buy a "smart" phone who really only need a "feature" phone; see 'em every day; texting and boppin' with their earbuds - and that's all they do. And for you, the zound probably works just fine. But as soon as you download a few apps, thhhhhe zoooooooounnnnd slooooooowwwwws doooooooowwwwn aaaaaaannnnnd finaaaaaaaaaalllllllly haaaaaaaaaalts.
you have the right to your opinion, but not all of us have had any issues with this phone,so you can only share your experiences,i have had nothing but positive experiences.Quick update. I just left myself a voicemail message using this piece of sh!t. No wonder I get so many complaints. This isn't a "phone" at all! It's a garble-machine. Jezuz effing Krist - how the **** can anyone put up with this?!
I'm trashing this tomorrow!

And lastly, the call quality is BY FAR the worst of any of the 20 or so cellphones I've owned. I travel a bit overseas and buy cheap "disposables" each time - and NONE of them has ever received the universal, "Where ARE you? In a pipe? I can't hear a word you're saying" reaction I get using the Rezound.

All that said... I was curious to find the Rezound not present on the HTC support center. I'm there to download software because I'm unable to connect my Zound to my PC (XP).
