***Official HTC Incredible Thread***

Why is everyone resting so assured that this "Incredible" device will be announced at CITA?
My many apologies to all of those (NKT, Stericson, Anonimac, etc) who have seemed to provide invaluable info so far. Please don't flame too hard.
Well for one,
Source says they WILL make an announcement about the htc incredible at CTIA...

like we thought :D:D
It's pretty much confirmed that HTC will announce SOMETHING new and it's either going to be the INC or the SS and since there's lots of rumor going around that the INC will hit the streets in 2 weeks time, odds are it's the INC being announced. If our precious is not announced at CITA (and gawd help this forum if its not) I don't think it should compromise the mid-April release.

Could somebody invite me to the Incredible Wave?
Sorry what's the Incredible Wave again?
Invite to the incredible wave would be greatly appreciated.
I believe I actually have Google Wave, anyone want to send an invite to the Incredible Wave?
Can we please just make the wave public and ask Anonimac to post a link to it on the first post so we don't need a post in this thread for every user who wants in?

I'm personally sticking to this thread for all my info.

So the fact they added the APP to their app market is a big deal?

What wonderbread said made more sense to me. Just having the app available doesn't make sense because it's been available for a very long time. I've had it for couple of years on my VZW phone which is not even listed above so that seems confusing to me.

Um, yea, he was asking if there was an Android version of skype. Hence I listed the phones that were compatible and how to get Skype on his phone. Why would I expound on more then just the app when someone is asking about the app?

Flashbacks to black friday. The phone has gone through all the hurdles and just needs to be produced in numbers it seems. So thats the only hold up to production.

Wow black Friday and the "Passion" anticipation. We've come so far. I'm happy it wasn't the Passion. The wait was worth it to get what the INC is shaping up to be.

I'm not sure VZW will make a big announcment about the Incred. or HTC. I think they will show it and release the specs and hopefully a release date. Hell, VZW might just do a press release and have the phone to mess around with at CTIA. VZW isn't re-inventing the wheel here. It could be as simple as that tomorrow. Once it is announced, expect to see it up on HTC's website as well.

The other way of looking at it is maybe VZW won't announce it at CTIA. Maybe too much going on for them and they DO want this to be a special announcment. So they will announce it sometime after to try and gather more media attention. I don't see how that would be as good though. Nothing really sets the stage like CTIA where people can get hands on right away!

Oh sorry I follow you now, I thought what you were saying was about this Press release from VZW and Skype which still doesn't make sense to me.

Well really they are talking about 4G infrastructure and Skype. They should have plenty of time to squeeze in some phone time if they haven't bored anyone to death. I just don't see Verizon making any sort of announcement. Its HTC or bust kiddies.

I have it all setup to stream to a ustream channel and everything but .... I'm not giving out any info like that .... anyone else wanna see if they can get a spot for the call ?

I just sent her a message over skype .... we'll see what happens.

this is my first post, ive been a long time lurker, but i have a few unresolved questions:

1) I am really not seeing much of a difference between this and the N1. These hardware related issue on the N1 dont seem too common and from what we have right now, the specs are better other than sense, camera, and support. Please could someone enlighten me as to what is so Incredible about a device that lacks overall feel compared to its cousin. After all, we all hold phones in our hands, the comfort and feel of a device should come before other specs.

2) First off, NKT really appreciate the pictures and info. What job do you have that lets you see and test these new devices before they come out? (maybe you cant say because you are actually breaking the rules)

Optical trackpad
lack of multitouch bug (supposedly)
More onboard rom which might mean more room to install apps
8 MP camera

Edit:
In store support
Hans-on with device before purchase

Really we don't know the final spec's yet, but given what has leaked and what the name itself lends, It should blow the N1 out of the water. Also, we are speculating that the N1 will not be offered directly through VZW, thus you must pay a lot more for the phone (likely $199.99 - $299.99 for the Incredible, $499.99-$599.99 for the N1).

Any twitter savy people getting any tweets about the Incredible from people at CTIA?

It's close to launch, I can feel it!

Just same old crap, nothing new on Twitter... I have a saved Search set up, so anytime somebody tweets with the words HTC & Incredible in it I can see. It has been the same old crap floating around for days.

Okay, I think I got it. It appears there are two categories for winners.

A. the one the HTC device is a finalist for. Voted on by, well I'm not sure, but not everyone. I guess certain judges.

Then there is....

B. "BEST ONLINE PICK AWARD" Which everyone can vote online for. I can only think the HTC device isn't there yet because it hasn't been announced yet. After it is, I am sure it will show up. But yes, it is losing ground for that award.

Somewhere on CITA's site I saw something about anything that is listed at 'product embargoed' is not up for the Best Online Pick Award. I think the voting for that ends (or ended) today. I could be wrong if I can find that page again I'll post a link.

ok so price is definitely an important aspect, but am i mistaken or is ROM only Read-Only-Memory, so you cant write apps to it.It only holds the kernel and other OS stuff
ROM does stand for Read Only Memory, but don't take the name literally. Your hard drive on your computer is ROM. ROM means, the data stays in the storage even when the device is powered off.

Thanks for the update. Please keep us posted if anything new comes out.

Big Red better say something soon, they're getting outshined already....but i guess they do have the "tractor beam of hotness" whenever they decided to unlease it!
