GS3 Case discussion thread

Got my $6 case from Amazon. I was surprised that the case fit in my hand so well. Good quality, not the tpu that makes it hard to press buttons it's more rubbery.

I came across to one video about coming soon cases of sgp in other forum, and I realize that that is not posted in here. Hopefully it helps users to choose a case.

Neo Hybrid Case Video that I watched
Coming Soon: Neo Hybrid Case for the Galaxy S3 | Facebook

Anybody have any experience with the Neo Hybrid and/or Ultra Thin from previous phones? Interested in one of these or possibly the Candyshell for my white S3 but what is making the selection process harder is I'm also trying to make a selection for the hubby's blue S3 too (preferably thin as we both don't want much bulk).

I received my Cruzerlite Clear Matte case today and I am super disappointed. I thought the back cover was suppose to be matte to prevent fingerprints and oil stains, but instead it's matte inside which ruins the purpose of getting a clear matte case. Ugh.
Assuming you bought from Amazon, you can see its clear as day that the outside of the case is standard glossy TPU case. Would you say the color is on the grey side? I think this would look good with the Pebble Blue

Alison, I checked out their facebook page yesterday and apparently a few people were not very happy with the Neo Hybrid cases for the Nexus and (I believe the other phone mentioned was) Iphone 4s. The comments said the silicone part of the case tended to sag. An SGP staff person responded saying that they are working with their manufacturer to make sure that doesn't happen with this case...possibly making it with TPU or a combination of it and something else.

Personally, I ordered this Rearth Samsung Galaxy S3 Ringke SLIM LITE (but from ebay w/ free shipping) because I wanted to try something different. It's extremely thin, hard shell, that doesn't fully enclose but has curves around the edges that look like it should protect the phone pretty well. Also, I like that it has that piece of leather inside to prevent scuffing on the back of the phone.

I'll probably order the Neo Hybrid case at some point and/or possibly the Seidio case w/ kickstand because I don't see any good horizontal desk docks for this phone anywhere.

I'm either going to get the Ringke Slim or the Seidio Surface. My only concern about a case, is sometimes I put the phone on its screen, I was hoping the Ringke would protect the phone when I do this.
I have the Seidio for my Incredible and I like it.

If you're going to get a slim case, check out the Quicksand by Rock. It is the best looking slim available imo and I would have ordered it if I didn't "need" a two piece hybrid case.

I waded through all nine pages, but forgive me for not clicking on every single link, so who knows if this is a fresh suggestion.

I ordered this case ahead of time so that I had something for my phone day one. For $6, this case is tremendous. I'd have easily paid 5 times as much. It is similar to the hybrid case that has appeared in this thread a few times, but it also has a kickstand. Do note, that the portion that appears to be white in these pictures is actually a frosted clear plastic, again, just like the other hybrid case from this thread. The fit is great, the buttons are easy to use, the case is rather minimal, and the look, even on the blue GS3 is nice and tidy.

The only "issue", is that the hinge for the kickstand means that the backing isn't exactly flush. Acceptable trade-off for me, so that the case didn't have to be a little bigger to make the hinge flush. This only affects it when laying on its back on a hard, level surface. The "lift" on the right side is enough for one penny to slide under, but not two. Uneven or softer surfaces make it a moot point.

Definite thumbs up from me.

Could you post a picture of the kickstand in action?

I ordered the White Commuter on AMAZON. Got notification yesterday the order had shipped. Received this email today....Weird. I'm OK with the wait. I already have a teal and a white Cruzer TPU case with the ANDROID guy on the back to hold me over until the OTTERBOX gets here. The $5 discount and free shipping is nice too.............

Amazon's customer service is indeed extraordinary. I shop there frequently, and on the off chance that I do have an issue, they are very quick to make it right, no questions asked.

A lot of these, like the Rinke, don't seem to have coverage on the front at the top and bottom. I just can't see getting something like that. If it falls face first you're way too likely to catch one of those edges.

The seidio is a true 1mm case, and for me, a no brainer for slim and complete protection.

That's the top lip you see against a 1mm mark on a ruler. (oh, and not a bad picture from my Rezound)

After seeing that very informative video of the "drop test" comparison between an S3 and iPhone, I am looking at the Otterbox line of cases, which seem very sturdy. But I have some questions I am not finding answers for on the Otterbox website.

Can someone who is familiar with using them explain how the "built in screen protector" on the Defender case works?

Does the case assemble from front AND back and snap together?

How much affect on touch screen performance does this case have?

I just got this one yesterday - Amazon.com: iTALKonline PREMIUM CROCODILE PRINT LEATHER WHITE Clip On Flip Case/Cover/Pouch For Samsung i9300 Galaxy S3 III: Electronics

It looks better in person. I hate screen protectors, but I want to be able to throw the phone is a bag without worrying about it. Should work out pretty well (and will look great with the white phone).

That is an unusual look, for sure. For a white case (not my preference) it looks nice! The one thing about those kinds of covers that sometimes doesn't work for me is that the top cover doesn't always fold back snugly behind the phone when in use. I wouldn't like the cover hanging off in free air while using the phone. How does this one do in that regard?
