Help ZTE Warp problems

Well Actually, I have a ZTE Warp as well as of 6/17/12 and I have yet to root mine but wondering if I even should being that I do not know what the benefits would be. With that in mind, I have had reboot issues from the moment I got it. Everytime I install or uninstall an app, it reboots. Being in an app too long whether if I an interacting with it or letting it sit, it reboots. Games especially. Made for android or emulator based, doesn't matter. Again I have stock soft and hardware and would like to find a solution. Added to all of this, I can make calls all day, texts and even IM's and never receive any. Not even replies until IT REBOOTS! I am highly frustrated and if anybody can help me figure out a solution I would greatly appreciate it... :)

Well there are benefits to rooting and disadvantages if you so feel to do so you lose your warranty but you can use custom ROMS and certain apps that exclusively for root users i hope this helps clear that up for you :D

Now I would agree with justtom. But here's the thing, this is #2... I returned it monday and got another fresh out the box. This has the same problems. they have decreased slightly but my original post are the problems I am having out of #2. So I didn't get one bad phone, but 2!

Yea that's what they say, I hope so for boost mobile's sake. I love this phone. But I gotta find a way to knock out the bugs before I decide to try to root it. On another note, flashlight won't work nether. Tried just about every app I could find. Any thoughts?

Yeah blackbolt is developing a flashlight app :D once hes done he will release it

No flashligts work yet, there is someone in here that is develoling a app just for the warp you will have to do a serch in here also there is a loop hole some one found to keep the flash lit during a picture shot so you can use it like a flashlight.I'm sorry I'm away from my desk top and laptop and serching thru here on this unit is a pain in the ass,I'm sure you will find it.

edit 6/26/12

Open up camera, turn on flash, take a picture but hit the home screen when the camera square on the screen goes green and the flash will stay on... hit power once to turn off...

I went ahead end rooted it. seemed to work slightly better. I now have more control of my battery and ram. I am looking for a custom rom though. Something honeycomb based. I wana just honeycomb it period. Bump up from gingerbread 2.3 to 3.2 honeycomb. Any way for that to happen? If not, list a few custom roms closes to it?

we don't have any ROMS based on anything newer than 2.3.5 yet, there are people working on cm7 and cm9 as well as a 2.3.6 port. Honeycomb is generally equivalant to 2.3.6 and was made for tablets specifically: Android version history - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

There are many good ROMs, I have one called n00b that is fabulous, but you can find others that are great too.

Do you really think this forum consists of the vast majority? Most people sought out this forum for advice because they were having problems or looking to root. Less then 25% of people who own the Warp even know this forum exists. I would NOT use this forum as a sample size to draw a conclusion of "vast majority". Just do a quick search and amazon users rate it a 4 star phone, 4 and a half on ebay, around 4 stars by users on cnet.com, 8 out of 10 on gsmarena. And thats just hundreds of people who took the time to rate the phone and most people don't leave reviews.

We'll agree to disagree. I believe from what I read, friends, reps at my local boost store all have the sane problems. I feel it is quite evident it has its problem. I know many agree with me. Point made. Topic closed for me. I just made a statement. Its just a phone, not my life. I would prefer it if it did not have problems, like the vast majority.
