Verizon Pre-order, Release date, and speculation thread

The Eagle has Landed! My 32GB Blue is sitting on the charger! I did the automatic activation and it worked fine and I still have unlimited data listed in my online account. Along with a very hot picture of an blue S3 as My Device.

Coming from an OG Inc, it is hard getting used to the power button being on the side.

Good to know the automatic activation worked w/o removing unlimited.

Same Pebble Blue 32 gig, I was charged for it today and my order status has the '+' next to tracking, but just says "will be shipped by 7/9" Don't they only charge when they ship? Still no email...

What was the original 'Estimated delivery' from the FedEx tracking? It's directly under Ship date at the top of the form.

Where is yours shipping from ('Left FedEx origin' Location)?

The hub, MEM, was closed Tuesday night till Wednesday night, but it sounds like they had someone volunteer to work on July 4th to pickup and take back to the station.

The estimated delivery date is 7/9. It is what it is It left Coatsville, Pa yesterday afternoon... but haven't got any updates on where it is now (24+ hrs later). Just a little jealous of folks that are getting shipping notifications today and getting phones tomorrow and I got my notification yesterday and will get it Monday.

Good news is I talked to our shipping clerk today and our Fedex truck typically arrives at 8:30 - 9:00am. So I will have ~1hr on Monday to activate the phone, switch sim cards, get a little bit of a charge on it, have my fiancee come get her soon to be Gnex, and then go to the airport for my flight

Your getting closer...I got a charged credit card & then what your speaking of, 5 hours later a tracking # appeared. So not too much longer.

I've seen posts from people who ordered as late as the 16th and the 18th who have received shipping confirmations. Seems there is no rhyme or reason to the order in which these things are being shipped.

Didnt put in an order till the 27th (Just kept putting it off till the last min due to being busy ) Though I dont expect to get in line before all the other folks here, I hope verizon will put it out by monday at the latest and throw it in as overnight... Having to wait till after the in store date will be kinda BS on a pre-order. (barring you didnt order a couple days before release where they just couldnt ship in time)

Got the 16GB PB and have a nice 64GB micro SD sitting here waiting to be thrown into it.

so it seems like there are quite a few people that got overnight shipping. :/ Mine is still sitting in the picked up status in PA. I wish all of us received overnight shipping. I have a feeling the status isn't going to update to in transit till tomorrow.

I hate to say this but watch your phone take a tour of Philly before it heads your way like mine did. Maybe you will luck out and they'll Air freight it out of Philly - skipping the tour bus.

So from what I'm seeing, most of the 7/9 preorders have been shipped. I think the rest will be shipped tomorrow, and they'll start shipping 7/10 preorders. I ordered on 6/14 (first day of the 7/10 expected ship date) so hopefully mine will ship tomorrow!

haha that would be awesome! I arranged things at work to be able to go home and sign for it on Monday. Just crazy how things are working themselves out with the phone. I'm also getting antsy cause all the guys at work are trying to make me feel bad by saying the phone will get lost or it will be broken when I get it. Darn co-workers just don't understand. haha. So I want it to prove them wrong that it came in great condition and works like a charm.

Actually I had the '+' yesterday for a short while then it went away. It's back this evening.

Did you get an email first or did you see a tracking number on your Verizon order page first? Still no CC charge yet.

I'm still holding out hope for a monday delivery but am thinking *if* it ships tomorrow that I'm looking at Tuesday

Still no tracking number but my status is now "your order has been sent processing" with an estimated ship date of today, 7/5/12. No tracking info yet. Amex doesn't update their charges so quick, so I don't know if I've been charged. I'm hoping I see it tomorrow! :dancing::dancing:

Question for you, Fedex under any duress to not deliver early but to hold it up and only deliver on the day it is scheduled no matter what?

As I mentioned before, normal ground from where it is coming gets the package there next day.

Just ordered mine off Amazon earlier today and it's already shipped, should be here in a couple days. Coming from a Lumia 900 and I can't wait to get my hands on this beast. I left the Android scene last year due to being underwhelmed with Froyo and I wasn't real hot with some of the ROMs that were out back then. Went back to an iPhone, little while later switched to the Lumia to try something different. Now I'll have the GSIII which I've lusted for since we first found out about it. Something tells me this phone is going to blow my Lumia out big time and I can't wait for that feeling of tinkering and customizing a phone again, something I've missed for quite a while.

Ordered on Verizon.com says FedEx 2day service. Not the end of world... just a bit of a bummer with folks getting phones overnighted. In hindsight I would have slept in on 6/6 instead of getting up at 5:00am MST to preorder. Oh well... first world problems

Odd, you should have a 7/9 ship date. Yours should be one of the first 7/10 preorders to ship though.

For those if you that are like grossie and have CC charged, status changed, but no FedEx tracking number yet:

The reference number Verizon is using for the shipments is based on the Order location and Order number (NOT the preorder number).

Go to Verizon Status with your preorder number (or look at you order confirmation email the day you ordered).
Get the Order Location and Order Number

Go to FedEx.com Track by Reference page.

Leave Account number blank

For reference number try:
LLLLLLL_00NNNNNNN where the Ls are your Order Location (including and letters), then underscore and 2 zeros, and the Ns are the Order Number. My order number was 7 digits. If your's was less than 7 you might try adding up to 4 zeros and try again.

Fill in Destination country and Destination zip code.

Let me know if this works, or if I'm just wasting your time.

No, there have been initiatives in the past, but none currently. And as I've said before, at my station we NEVER get Verizon packages in early, they always arrive the day they are to be delivered. Verizon ships ALL the time, and they've got the FedEx system figured out.
