Root [ROM][PORT] Sharp ROM 2.2.2 for the Triumph (Updated: 12/16/12)

What I have heard is that they wouldn't go into deep sleep even if Juice Defender turned off WI-FI and Bluetooth but would if they were turned off manually. I read some explanation of this but I don't remember what it was.
That I don't know since I don't use JD. But yes, if you manually toggle BT and wifi the phone is supposed to enter deep sleep. I think there must be something on my phone that's preventing it after I've turned it off, but it's followed me from ROM to ROM :(.

I just posted the network location fix. Give it a try and let me know if it works. If you are running the original Ver6 without NetworkLocation.apk then you will have to flash the updated Ver6, or use the original network location fix, I deleted it, so I'll have to make another version of the network fix, that includes the apk.

EDIT: I updated the fix to include the apk also. If anybody is running into any problems, redownload the fix and reapply it and if that doesn't work let me know.

Rom's running great. Deep sleep, mms, calls, wifi, GPS...all work. Pandora starts almost immediately and speeds reported by SpeedTest are a bit better. Battery life so far seems as good as MIUI or better, and I haven't even downloaded JuiceDefender yet. Thanks BSydz!

Just need to theme it a bit more. Any way to replace the stock clock?

Thank you. I didn't do any theming to the regular ROM, it is stock. There is a GB system theme in the second post and a bunch throughout the thread, that I haven't tested out yet. There are a bunch of posts about which apps people have swapped out, starting around page 8. Hope this answers you question.

What's up everybody? I would like to ask, since there are very simple fixes for the only two issues known, that most of the bug reports, from here out, be for a cleanish install of Ver6 with the two fixes. I think that everything is fully functional with the fixes. There may be a few glitches here and there but those will be found over time. Keep posting feedback, so I can get everything as smooth as possible.

Thank you to everybody in this community for the support and help.

Now, to move on to GB and see what I can do, to get us an unofficial official Gingerbread ROM. :D

I don't post much but I would like to commend you for your hard work and your tenaciousness in getting this rom just right.I haven't downloaded it yet because I went back to stock after having tickerguy's rom.Do you recommend I give it a go or wait for your next project(GB) to be complete?
P.S. With the stock software there was the issue of the green LED blinking after the call log was cleared and the proximity sensor issue with the tickerguy rom when the phone was not near the face.Have those kinks been worked out also? Thanks again.

You should definitely try this. I have not had a build up and running long enough to know every detail, but everything works. There are just a few tweaks that will probably be done for the final release but that won't be for a long while til we find all the minor bugs. Basically just intergrating the fixes to the ROM but not much else. The fixes are real easy to apply, just weeks worth of work to actually integrate into the ROM.
Ooh.. a gingerbread Sharp Rom? Its like I've just had a wonderful meal and now I find out theres a possibilty of dessert. Yum. Can't wait to see what kind of Ginger yumminess lies ahead. :)
I can't promise anything, I just have some unique knowledge about the X6 variants and their ROMs. Many people have tried in the past to get GB on our phone and some have succeeded to a point but all of them have hit a road block. If I can't get a clean stock GB ROM working I will see what I can do with the WIP ROM. But I would definitely like my Sharpened Triumph pushing 2.3.5. :D

I'm not sure if I did something wrong, but that seemed to hose a lot of stuff on my phone. My desktop got reset back to the default. Swype Beta kept popping up an FC error. And after another reboot, TTPod gave an FC error. Gmail seems to be reset/empty. I'm not sure what else is broken yet. Since I didn't do a nandroid backup (my bad) it looks like I might have to start fresh again.

Just to make sure I understand. Sorry, I'm trying my best to get out of the newbie stage:) To incorporate location fix and voicemail, is this the procedure?

Factory wipe/reset in cwm. Flash version 6. Boot, then flash the location zip file. Boot, use es file explorer to change the codes for the voicemail fix.

Earlier today before you updated the voicemail I flashed the location zip file and a lot of stuff was force closing and seem to take me back to almost a semi factory reset (hope that makes sense), but everything located. It was so buggy with fc I thought I did it wrong and went back to restore a backup. Thanks for being patient.

Before you start over fresh try flashing Ver6 and see if that helps. I was wondering if it was gonna effect those that have other apps installed, since it looks to be a list of installed apps. I am so used to backing stuff up and starting over it is ridiculous. I know it is a pain in the butt, but now there really won't be an update for a long while cause both issues are gonna take alot of restructuring to get put in the ROM. I have just been testing fresh installs mostly since my bootloop episode. So like I said try reflashing Ver 6 and see what happens.

I am backing up and testing now to see if there is a work around, you might wanna try clearing the data on the apps that are not working.

Edit: I tested it out. And some apps just need the data cleared and a few needed to be uninstalled and reinstalled and everything was fine.

OK. So, reflash v6 and flash the location zip while still in cwm or flash the zip after the first boot?
When I tried to flash right after it just bootlooped. So, flash after it has booted.

When I tested the network location fix with my system setup. Only one of my apps FCed, just uninstalled and reinstalled and was fine, and I had to wipe play, but other than that I didn't have any issues with the network location fix.

Tried it again and same thing happened. Tried to clear data on some apps but still fc'd. Did have to reload playstore after boot as you did. Tried uninstalling some apps but playstore would not fully install any apps. Could receive calls but could not make any. Most all of my apps would fc. Maps still would locate perfectly but could not try any other location based apps because of fc's or playstore not letting me install fully. It also wouldn't let me uninstall playstore either. Have to go back to my back up

Update: Thought I would try something else. Did a factory wipe, boot, fresh install of ver6, boot, flash location fix and everything works great. No force closes. Reloading and backing up apps. Thanks BSydz.

It's that way with every ROM, phone won't enter deep sleep when charging or if BT or wifi are on. It would still be possible to achieve good battery life without deep sleep. I use CPU spy religiously to get a feel of what my processor is doing at all times, but i'm not sure why it wont deep sleep AFTER turning wifi or my music player off. Like I said though it's not specific to this ROM only. And I almost forgot to say thank you to BSydz for letting me experience my Triumph the way it was SUPPOSED to be!
So, I installed cpu spy now that I am all setup, fresh Ver6 with the 2 fixes, all my apps and stuff restored. I reset the stats after I enabled both. And I have deep sleep with BT and wifi on. I attached a Screenshot, I'll attach more as time goes by, but just wanted to let you know. Also, I changed the lowest speed in the kernel to 122 from 245, if anybody was wondering, dunno if it will help or not.

Before you start over fresh...
I started over fresh with a wipe, then v6, then the network location patch, and Network Location is working.

Both cell network and WiFi network location are working. I've only tried them in Google Maps so far, since I want to see how the ROM/phone does with only a minimal amount of additional apps installed. So far I've only installed OS Monitor, CPU Spy, and ES File Explorer.

I am uploading a Prep ROM to fix the network location and *86 issue. I have stripped the Stock ROM down to 62MB and only what is needed to activate, and fix those 2 issues.

It looks from your second post that you have decided to stop trying to bring the ver6 ROM and the 2 fixes together into the one flash-able ROM. If so, cool.

If I understand things properly then you are considering:
The - "BSydz Sharp Triumph Froyo Deodexed Ver6: (6/27/12)"
Plus - "BSydz Sharp 2.2 Ver6 Network Location Fix:" and "Voicemail Fix Instructions:" all together as the final version of the Sharp 2.2 ROM and you are moving on to develop the Sharp 2.3 ROM. If so... Hooray!

In your first post you have placed this note above the installation instructions.
"Note: Voicemail dials *86 by default, I am looking into it. For now, you can follow these instructions, you can dial your own number and it will go to voicemail, or you can do a "Dirty Install", until it gets resolved."

It seems to me that you can remove this note altogether because step 6 in the instructions covers the scenario in the note.

P.S.
Thanks again, Masked Man.
