Verizon Pre-order, Release date, and speculation thread

Just out of curiosity I decided to call 611 to check my order.

Other options - 4
Spoke the words "order status"

It responded "your order number ##### has been processed and shipped. Estimated shipping time, 2 days."

Then it asked me if I want a tracking number. When I said yes it said "your phone has been received and activated" HUH? that's news to me.

I spoke to a representative to ask why the on-line status order doesn't show anything, but the phone system says it's been shipped. Apparently since there is no tracking number yet it thinks I received the phone already.

As usual, the rep said it is scheduled to ship the 9th - duh. Not really his fault. On an up note, I asked if I could have it next day instead of 2nd day, he said it's in the system as standard overnight. We'll see

Mine does the same but then wants to transfer me to a rep, I have already spoke to like 4 or 5 today so I just hang up.

I hope they start the pre orders for 6/14 tonight or tomorrow so I have it by Monday or Tuesday!

If you go into settings....more...mobile networks... network mode... then choose CDMA. The phone will then read 3g signal. Then check Dbm.

This is what I have to do on my Gnex - should be similar but maybe not exactly the same location.

I haven't found anywhere to select CDMA yet, I'll keep looking but it's different than the Gnex.

Damn, you're only showin' 1 bar? Why aren't you on the other threads complaining. Or is it a 'Been there, Done that!'

Thanks for the App suggestion. Will load it in the morn.

That's my Droid X. I always have one bar at home, but I get rock solid, crystal clear calls with that one bar. I can only hope the SIII does me as well or I may have to go back to Moto. If only a screen shot would show the discolored spot where my swollen original battery is trying to burst thru the screen.

And no Trent Reznor (BTW - Love 'Closer') I didn't order anything else. Maybe the FedEx guy had his finger on the scale to make a little more money for Fred Smith.

One more thing. My Droid X has frozen on me twice today. I NEVER have trouble with my good ole DX. I think it knows I've got a young, sexy thing flying into town tomorrow. She's only got one button instead of four, but she knows how to use it.

I hate to admit it but what I feared seems to be the case. I believe I may pass on the S3. The signal in db's is about the same as the Gnex according to 3 or 4 posters here. I live in a rural fringe area, there's no way I want another Nexus.

I am very disappointed that Samsung chose to use the same quality antenna.

Couldn't resist, just called Verizon CS. I was a late orderer. . .June 21st. When I called, I asked them to annotate the account with the fact that they confirmed I would keep unlimited data if I ordered pre 6/28.

My order status has always stated shipping by 7/11. CSR confirmed that phone would ship by 7/11. He stated that there will be a "mass shipping on 7/11." He also confirmed note on account that unlimited data would stay on my account.

I certainly didnt think with a late order I would be getting my phone before the 11th. . . for what its worth, just thought I would share the latest word from verizon CSR.

My first post, its been fun following. Thanks for the info folks!

If you want to wait the weekend, I live in a rural fringe area and will be going off to various places to make/receive calls. I also have a Verizon Network Extender which has been a savior for my original Dinc even with it's great ability to catch signals. It'll be interesting to see how the S3 responds to the Extender.

Thanks, if you would please PM me your findings as they may get lost in the euphoric frenzy that will be sure to happen as users get their beloved.

I received my backup battery charger (includes an OEM - NFC 2100mah battery) and it's charging so I can pop it in right away when I I receive my phone.

Also received my Steinheil Ultra Nano screen protectors and my 32GB MicroSD card.

Only need the phone now. Scheduled for Monday delivery (shipped 7/3).

Nice!! I'm Ready for Verizon to start listing accessories as I get a 30% discount on them w/ my company. Need extra battery!!
