This could be a winner for me. Along with a simple pouch for everyday transportation this would let me read in the bath!

Proporta BeachBuoy Waterproof Google Nexus 7 Case

Does anyone know if the touch would still work inside a case like this? And if it does then how?

Has anyone seen a jogging solution for a 7 inch tab, i.e. so you can run and listen to music?

Some sort of super minimalist backpack would be great. I'd like to ditch my old iPod touch 2nd gen once and for all, but as I've alluded to, it's useful for running.

Seems a lot of weight bouncing around. any holster type of thing would need to be pretty snug. Let me hunt a bit.

Yep, although if strapped to the body somehow it might not feel too bad. Would be nice to ditch the iPod altogether.

I've done some googling but can't find anything, obviously I'm the only weirdo who'd want this kind of thing.

Found the manufacturer.;)

Thanks for the feedback on the kickstand! We're still looking into options but recommend that you send an e-mail to nexus7@seidio.com to request specific products!

When buying cases that have the little tiny flap in the back to help hold the folded part in place, you have to be kinda skeptical. The angle is EVERYTHING. That one looks like it will be fine.
I got this one many months ago for my mom's A100, and the angle is too high, which causes the tablet to fall over face first really easily:

I've seen several waterproof pouch cases like this for point-and-shoot cameras and smartphones. Apparently they do in fact work. As far as the screen working, capacitive touchscreens are sensitive enough to where you can press things without even touching them, so I imagine it will work just fine, but be slightly less sensitive so you may have to tap and press with a small amount of extra force.

You people that are ordering cheap leather cases where the leather runs across the front of the case, have you used these before? I bought a package for $7 for the Nook Color over a year ago, and it came with case, screen protector and a few trinkets. The screen protector was good, but the case was secured by simply folding a flap of leather under the tablet. It worked ok when it layed flat, but when it was landscape and using the stand, the case would slide down about 1/2 inch. I'll never order that style case again and IMO they look cheap anyway.

BTW, I am far from high maintenance. :D I just think some things are best to spend a couple more dollars to get something you won't dread using or feel the need to quickly replace.

Do you mean like this?

The one for my NC holds it tight. It doesn't slide in any position. The flap that folds under the device to hold it in also has velcro on it so it doesn't come out by itself. I hope the one for the N7 is as good.

I am waiting [and looking] for this case, for the Nexus 7. MY dad has this case for his KF, and the device fits in perfectly - and there is NOTHING covering the front of the device. It's SUCH a nice case.
As Colchiro said, I too dislike the case design with the leather running across the front edges of the device - it looks tacky, imho.

Yes, exactly like that. You can see the flap that appears to tuck under (on the bottom) to hold it in. Mine did not have Velcro.

OOOO .. I like that. If someone comes out with that I will have to be buying it.

On second thought, after watching the video, I'm not sure I like the notch the flap fits in. I'm not sure it would be that stable.

Are you referring to setting it up in landscape, with the "stand"?
I just tried it on my dad's - and it is stable enough, in my opinion. It may not be very stable on a soft surface (as he says in the video), but if you're just setting it up to watch a movie, it's good enough

Some cases came with something called velcro that can secure the tablets better in the case.

I ordered a similar one to this from eBay...was only a fiver so I'm not expecting it to last too long. The problem I saw with the LuvTab one is that there doesn't seem to be any holes around the speaker, so it might make it sound a bit muffled. Also, nothing for the camera?

For what it's worth, I ordered this one from Kays Case yesterday.

Amazon.com: KaysCase FlipStand Leather Case Cover for Google Nexus 7 inch Tablet Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with Built-in Stand and Stylus Loop (Black): Electronics

They have an interesting line of cases for the 7 that are worth checking out. I'm not really big on case construction (In fact, I've never bought a case for a device before this ever). Hoping this thing lasts a little while and that I don't end up using my 7 naked like I do with the rest of my devices (the device naked, not myself, mind you).

It was about 11 bucks with the promotional code for anyone interested.

I have this for my Fire and I love it. So the first thing I did after ordering my Nexus 7 was email Marware. Unfortunately, I was told they have no plans to make this cover for the Nexus 7. I hope that changes once they see how popular this tablet will be.
