By now everyone that is into pc gaming has at least heard of minecraft at one point if not tried it by now, and I also have learned recently that it is now available to the 360.

Anyone else here a minecraft addict? I remember the first time I saw it, i thought it looked so stupid and I said to my self I would never play a game that went backwards with its graphics... Sure enough a friend convinced me to try it, and I was hooked. I quit after 3 months because I was spending to much time on it. Just recently I started playing again because another friend told me to since he was starting a server about a year after I had stopped.

So who else here plays the game? What do you like to do to pass time on it?

I'll admit that a year or two back, I spent nearly a third of my classes playing minecraft all class. It was bad....

It seems that you can't play it anymore without an account? I haven't tried it in quite a while, but seems like when I last tried to go on, it needed me to create an account or buy it... :(

Yeah, I like free things. ;)

On their website they have free multiplayer, and you can sign up for a free account. Its basically just creative mode, but that is how I got addicted to it over a year ago haha... And that is exactly how my friends and I started playing, in our classes in between haha

I too saw it at first and hated it because it was ass-backwards with graphics. However, same thing, a friend had me get it for her and I was like... well might as well at least give it a try. ;) and I actually run my own server so I was like... MINE ALL MINE! (Get the pun? ) lol anyways, if you are interested, PM me and I can whitelist you.

You can play it without an account, and without paying a dime... but technically it's illegal to download the full game without paying for it, but if you do, all you do is try to sign in with blank UN & PW and it'll give you "wrong UN and PW" type thing, and just hit: play offline. :) But I highly recommend buying it. Even if it is a little expensive...

I spent far too many hours playing it on the PC last year.

I see it's now available on android. But a little expensive. Has anyone played the android version?

You can talk to Xavierdarkness in the #Ally IRC on freenode. He stayed up till 4am the night I told him about it... he flipped on me cuz he stayed up that late... Xavier is addicted. lol

To be clear, I wouldn't rip them off. I just remember that you used to be able to play online (single player) without any registration or account creation - that's all I was getting at. :smokingsomb:

But it is nice that they have an offline mode for the internet-ly challenged. ;D

You should still be able to on their site... but through the browser. And no, I don't encourage ripping them off. I love their game too much. Lol

I picked it up for almost nothing in a sale a while back. I can't say it was that enjoyable compared to the real thing, especially when the android version was creative only.

That said, I opened it recnetly to find that they had added survival mode, so it's progressing.

Found something to build tonight on my friends server.. They called it a Zombie-O-Matic haha. I'll be taking it one step further and make it a little "trap" type a thing since my friend likes messing with me by putting a random plate connected to an outa sight dispenser with a fire charge in it

[Minecraft Tutorial] ZOMBIE-O-MATIC! - YouTube

that youtube account has some pretty neat tutorials and cool things to build

i tried the free version of the pocket minecraft, not for me haha I like having the keyboard and mouse to control my character.

Built the zombie house last night, though no zombies magically spawn in it like in the tutorial. Building it again on my friends server tonight. Got half way on my break but my looper isn't working so I'll have to figure that out.

Its amazing what you can do with redstone wire and all of those things just cool

My son (age 6) is super into Minecraft. He watches videos of it on youtube all day. I had a friend who played it a bunch, but after he upgraded to Win7 it stopped running.

Does the XBox version require a Gold membership or whatever they call their stupid premium thing? And can it connect to a server another friend runs?

Been debating between the Xbox and pc version for a while, those two questions are the main hang up for me getting the Xbox version.

On the 360, you would need gold membership to play any kind of multiplayer across the internet. I think it has local multiplayer too, which wouldn't require gold membership.

The game is compatible with windows 7, if that's a factor in your decision.

Thanks, I figured it would. I really wish I had saved a little more and purchased a PS3 instead of the stupid Xbox.

That much I knew, his stopped working because he barely had enough RAM for it and with the way he has Win7 configured it crashes from a lack of memory shortly after it loads.

Thanks for the info, I will stick with the PC version.

I've been playing since classic creative mode was released before the beta was even a thought. Can't remember how I found it but was instantly hooked because of all the freedom and ability to do whatever you want. When I bought the get a that brought on even more things to do, and now that it's official there is so much I have to look at the wiki to figure things out. I actually liked the graphics when I started playing, and now they're even better. Plus you can add texture packs so you can make it look like whatever you want.

if anyone is interested my friend and I have a tekkit server going and we are on the verge of going limited public (only allow few people that we hand out ips to)

For those of you who don't know what tekkit is, it is modded version of Minecraft, 41 mods in 1 little easy to launch pack. All you have to do is download the "Technic Launcher". It is very interesting, there is actually electricity, along with lights, computers, new minerals, nuclear power... the list goes on

Anyone interested just either post here or send me a pm
