Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

And just like that 3.1 in now out. So many fixes for something that I thought was supposed to be the official build?

(Bleeding edge of tech, huh??) Flashaholics R Us....

yeah looks kinda like it was rushed or did not finish compiling properly or something....I waited for 3.1. Factory reset, 3.1 and gapps 7/11..TIBU and in less than 10 min (actually during a commercial break on the TV) up and running baby!!!!
Looking forward to all the customizatons in AOKP, but this will do for now.
Have a good night AF!!

Morning all! Hope everyone had a restful night of sleep. Some crazy stuff going on at work, can't discuss, and won't really affect me, but I just find myself shaking my head. Why do grown adults in a professional setting act like that is all I have to say...

If it makes you feel any better, I do the same thing on a daily basis.

Morning all! I'm trying to holding out for AOKP JellyBean but seeing all of you on JB already is making me itch!

Is anyone else excited about the Olympics?? I'm actually bummed because I'll be on vacation for the first week of it.. :( But I should get to see the last 4 or so days not counting closing ceremony.

Ditto. I am in a quandry, though. My daughter's Droid X is dying a slow, painful death, and I'm afraid that we're going to have to end up giving up unlimited on 3 of our lines to use the available upgrade we have and get a new phone. If we do that...do I get her the GNex? Or get myself the GSIII and give her my GNex and then trade with her if I don't like it (read "if they don't figure out a way through the encrypted bootloader issue")?

Good morning everyone and happy hump day!

I am on some old JB ROM when they first dropped and since I am having no problems I am in no rush to get on JB v3.0/3.1, but this weekend I will flash whatever the newest stable version they have out.

Cinnamon Dolce Latte this morning from Starbucks - hopefully this keeps me awake.

Hey Dawnierae, have you checked out Swappa? My math tells me it's cheaper in the long run to buy a phone - especially a gently used one - outright... and not subsidize a phone with VZW and lose unlimited.

Run the numbers yourself and then decide whether you really need to lose unlimited or not :)

Curious why you say you will have to give up unlimited on 3 lines? You can upgrade without switching to the Share Everything plan, you will only lose unlimited on the upgraded line (it will switch to 2GB tier), with no change to your bill.

What is it with Motorola phones? My Droid didn't make it 18 months before it started going bonkers. My friend's Droid X had a similar usable life. His signal dropped significantly and battery was almost non-eixistant before he was elligible for an upgrade. He was burned so bad by it that he went and got an iPhone last week.

My OG Droid is still going strong and I just gave away my D2 for a replacement and it was working great. Admittedly, the batteries are / were tired after two years but replacements can be found easily enough if I needed to.

BTW CaptainRon, did that D2 show up yet?

Interesting read on the Nexus Q
Developer Pushes Launcher Through ADB to Nexus Q, Makes Device Actually Kind of Cool – Droid Life

Makes me wonder if Google is harvesting the free efforts of the developer community to see what could happen. You know, lets take a sphere with a whole bunch of electronics packed inside running barebones ICS Android and see what they make from it.
I agree - they definitely tried to push the fact that the Nexus Q was "hackable" at I/O. Can't wait to see what people come up with for the Q. Just wish the price point was a bit lower.

I don't think they plan on this being a general release, just a lab experiment. I think they will release something at a lower price point in the future that incorporates the best ideas of the developer community.

Directv has a clause in their contracts that keeps you from getting out of the early termination fee if they lose channels due to contract negotiations. So now that I've lost all of the Viacom channels, they aren't dropping the price of the packages and they won't let me out of contract. Come November, I will not renew with any satellite/cable provider. OTA Antenna only. Going to look into purchasing one in the next few weeks and make sure we can pick up all the channels we need (ABC, NBC, FOX, CW)

I did get $5 off my bill and 3 months free showtime and starz :p
