Yep, I've had ICS since November, so I'll help on that end or anywhere else I can.

2 things to start....

I can't move my apps to the sd card ? It says there is no external storage, however, all my pics etc are visible ??? huh???

Also, all my fb pics that link to my contacts are blurry. I paid and downloaded haxsync and it still doesn't help...

What the heck is Kies ? and do I need it?/ where do I find it?

Oh, 1 last thing... (lol) Where is google wallet? I can't find it either???

That should start me out (and Cranberry and vodka on me if you can help :))

I believe the S3 is like my GNex where the SD card is virtual so I don't think you gain anything. I have over 125 apps installed (many are large games) and have no issues with storage. I started with an OG Droid so I know what you are thinking, but I don't think it is a major issue anymore.

Facebook pics linked to contacts being blurry is an issue I have as well. There are workarounds, I'll check the GNex forums and see if I can link you to a solution. It just wasn't a big deal for me.

Kies is some sort of Samsung device maintenance thing and from my understanding is more trouble than its worth. I have not needed it yet. Hopefully someone with a better understanding of it will chime in.

So..., what is the sd card for then besides pics? If I knew I couldn't move anything I should have got the 32g?

There are ways but my understanding is it is a placebo effect to moving things to the SD Card. I know someone real smart that did a write up about it (and maybe I misunderstood him) so I'll go find a link.

Also, here you go for the FB contact photos.

Still lovin my S3 - sober now :( :p

But why does it take a sec for my clock to pop up every time I go back to home screen? (Using beautiful widgets clock)

some apps don't seem to be handling the s3 so awesome :/ BofA, FB, Starbucks

my text message counter is stuck @1

Also I would love GWallet to come to s3!

For the clock, try going to settings > Dev options > "window animation scale & Transition scale" turning them off.

For messge counters being stuck, delete the message icon and replace it, or do a phone reset/firmware update ;)

Btw still half cut :D

If your wondering why the 16gb isnt really 16gb, I suspect Samsung have partitioned the 16gb into 3 drives;

1gb/2gb for ram (yea ok i know the US version has 2gb)
2.5gb/1.5 for OS (android)
11.35 for user storage.

You also do get the prompt when you open things like the radio, gallery, camera etc to save data to the phone or SD card by default, so just choose the SD card and leave the phone RAM free for the apps you need ;)

nother beer for me me thinx

1. Sell the Wildfire S

2. Count my pennies while watching the price on eBay, Amazon & Newegg. Looks like I can get a great deal on a brand new GT-I9300 here! :D And I've sold a laptop beside the WFS. Half the cost is covered!

3. Visit the friendly phone shop in Phnom Penh Monday.

Good man :D

CafeKampuchia,

Perhaps one could explain the coffee in the bag thingy :coffee: .

Yeah, in Cambodia if your order coffee to go it comes in a bag like in my avatar. It's just a cool thing. I'll be back in the US for three months starting Wednesday this week. It's going to be weird getting Starbucks in a plastic cup and paying $4 for it. I quite like ultra-strong, slightly sweet Vietnamese ice coffee in a bag off the side of the road for $.50 :D
