The notification bar toggles are something specific to custom ROMs. The stock Android OS never had those. And as for tethering, it works fine for me. It just took a little while for my computer to fully connect
Few questions:
1. is there an apk or how do I get back the stock browser?
2. How do I get flash back (I may have an incompatible apk for adobe?)
3. Is there something everyone uses to get toggles back into the notification bar? (trouble adjusting to this from aokp)
4. Is there some sort of tether work around? Where do I find/use this?
A few notes as well, I was having trouble with both lightflow and having pictures sync to contacts with facebook. Not sure if anyone else is experiencing the same.
Thanks!
So seems like the steps are...
1. Download the ROM from here
2. Make a NANDROID
2. Wipe dalvik, wipe cache, wipe data/factory reset (optional but highly recommended)
3. Flash the ROM
4. Reboot
5. open voice search then go to
menu
settings
voice
download offline speech recognition
all
then pick whatever languages you want.
6. download the youtube fix from here
7. Enjoy JellyBean!
It might take a long time for it to boot, but just leave it alone.
I actually typed these up for my own use, but I thought they could be helpful for other people as well.
Gonna flash JB for the first time now super excited, with the youtube fix do I just add the apk to the root of my sd card and install it while my phone is on? i dont have a lot of experience flashing apks
If you're flashing the latest Bug less Beast (7/12) then you don't need to worry about that. The developer fixed it for this release
just ran superwipe, and flashed latest BB rom 7/12, when i clicked reboot system now, the phone went completely black not sure if its on or off, should i wait or try and turn it on?
edit: nvm when i try and click reboot system now with the power button it just turns my screen off....
That's a known problem with CWM. What happens sometimes is that the volume rocker buttons turn the power button from a selection button to a screen on/off button. The only fix I ever found for this was to press the volume rocker up and down buttons repeatedly or simultaneously. Just keep doing that and a message should pop up saying something is either enabled or disabled. Sorry can't remember what exactly it says but that's what happened most likely.
I'd recommend trying TWRP to avoid that from now on
