Shipping date speculation

*I just joined the forum*

I wanted to say I got a call from Staples saying that I need to call them back about my Nexus7. I was kinda freaked out because my order was put on 'hold' but the lady was super nice and they just wanted to reconfirm that I typed in the correct address when I put in all my info for my order.

If you ordered it from Staples I would highly suggest you check that phone numbers voice mail for a message.

Im thinking positive and hope'ing that I get it before July18th like she told me. She reconfirmed that my credit card will only be billed when it has been shipped, and as of 2:00PM CST my credit card as not been charged yet. I just really want to get it before I leave on a long road trip on July 20th.

Here's my prediction: Apple is on their way to court right now to file a lawsuit against Google for swiping their magnetic doohickey. Injunction? Google should have disabled the sensor then re-enabled it later through a OTA.

May I be wrong for the first time. :D

Crackberry had a feature like this years ago, where it would turn off the phone when you put it in the phone holster. I thought that was a great idea. OGD had the dock mode thing (desk/car dock mode) that was pretty cool.

of course the apple reality distortion field will allow them to sue all the above...

Possible but I highly doubt it. So far apple has skirted skirmishes with google directly and microsoft altogether. That will initiate one big gigantic mother of all legal battles of "my patent is bigger than your patent"

No the verge article is not giving you the whole picture. It implies that stores will have it today but not for you to walk in and pick up. It implies that those stores will begin shipping.

I believe all stores can begin shipping today along with google play. when will the brick and mortars have it on the shelf for you to pick up...so far nobody has reported such a thing.

How can people possibly be calling this release a flop? They said mid-July, and it will be mid-July. Why do people always assume that if it doesn't get released on the EARLIEST possible LEAKED date then something is wrong?

If by the end of next week it still hasn't shipped, then we can start questioning them, but until then we should consider it still On-Time.

You think it' s a successful release when no one from Google to the retailers to the consumers has any clue what is going on? Retailers have their hands on product and have no idea when they're supposed to sell it. How is that a great release?

Looks like Google might have put the kibosh on the Ebuyer debacle:

Nexus 7 arrives: here's where you can buy it right now (update: Google asks retailers to halt sales) | The Verge

But, of course, this might be just down to the first load of Ebuyer stocking selling out.

I'm over this stress! I think I'm going into hibernation until the thing arrives. It's the only way to survive this ;) Seriously, It will come when it comes, and not before.

Right and that article also says how they stopped Adorama's sales

And all could've been avoided entirely of Google had/would actually announce a freaking release date. It's insane to have your products in the hands of retailers and have customers wanting to buy those products and not tell either the customer or the retailer when that would happen. Beyond ridiculous. :secruity:

Hey guys/gals,

So I just talked to a Google Play rep about my Nexus 7 pre-order. Here is what Eric said (I order on June 27th at 621p btw):

I am paraphrasing him: "Pre-orders made between June 27th and June 29th should be process by no later than Monday"

We bantered a little bit and he said that they are trying to get it done by today but that Monday would be the latest.

Hope this helps.

Be processed meaning be shipped?! Or delivered?
