Shipping date speculation

Congrats on getting her one, but you should just get one for you, too!

I am hearing from a Google Play rep that these ship as early as today, as late as Monday for those who ordered between June 27th and June 29th. I think you'll get yours by the end of the month.

If you don't mind, I am gonna merge this with the shipping speculation thread.

Thank you.

I DO MIND! un-merge now!!! LOL

but I already told my wife I was getting her an eReader. and it'd look funny me buying my own, at the same time I bought her birthday present...Like how Cartman gets a present for every present the other kid gets at his birthday party. I think I wanted a Nexus 7 more than she did. all she wanted was something like a nook or a kindle lol. Nexus 7 is the same price as the kindle, and just looking at the specs, better than the kindle.

Only only thing I think might be wrong with me getting her a Nexus 7 is that the screen isn't like a nook or a basic kindle. The nexus 7 screen looks like it was designed to be vibrant, where devices that are specifically made for ebooks are dull, soft on the eyes.

Yeah but this is how product sales are normally done. Its not like this is a test sale. You didn't pre-order with the promise of an exact date of when your fingers will touch it.

The true problem is us. We hear a "rumor" release date of 7/12 and we absolutely believe it to be true because that is what we want to believe. And when 7/12 arrives and nothing is at our doorstep because we expect google to use their transporter to beam the product into our doorstep we go nuts. We say "they promised 7/12 and its 7/12" but nevermind its still a rumor date that nobody confirmed.

This is why people say 2nd quarter, mid-month, early spring etc.

Lets just chill because this time next month nobody will care when this was shipped.

It's not how a lot of tech products are sold. See Apple.

Your request has been considered and ultimately denied.:p:D

Yeah I totally get that. I mean, I love me some Cartman, but he is a total jerk. Perception is everything. Just ask my wife :D

So, I ordered mine on the 6th, should I be receiving it by the end of next week?

The way I found out that pre-orders placed between June 27th and June 29th would be processed (shipped) by no later than Monday (arrive next Wednesday) was by calling Google Play Support from my Google Wallet Receipt page for my pre-order.

I don't want to give you an answer in that regard, cos only they know. That said, it is a good guess, albeit, just a guess. Give them a call and share here if you have the time. I am sure others would appreciate your efforts.

Still F5ing my Wallet page!

Lol, I wouldn't put too much stock in adorama. I used to live near them. They will advertise something really cheap and then when you buy it they will tell you, "sure you can get it at that price but it has no warranty, if you want a warranty you have to pay this price". OR my favorite "yes its that price for the camera but you have to buy it as a kit which includes a battery, a strap and case which costs an extra $150".

What?!?! Sorry, but I cry BS here. Them and B&H are known as the two most honest camera dealers around. They are HUGELY respected in the camera community. I have bought many things off of them and have never had a single problem like you describe! I think you are reporting rumors you have heard about another camera shop. Ask anyone in the camera community and they will have good things to say about Adorama.

First post. Been following this thread for a few days and had to share my tale of woe. Thanks, though, to all the posters, the youtube links, the humor, the shared anticipation. I be seriously jonesing for my Nexus.

I pre-ordered at Gamestop the first day they were taking preorders. I took a couple of old ipods over that I wasn't using, was really very satisfied with the trade-in offer (+ 30%) which in fact completely covered the cost of my tablet.

So, I stopped over at Gamestop this evening to see if they had any update. The young man, who was very nice, let me know that in fact they had my tablet there (completely paid for, I repeat) right there in the store, just . . . right there -- but that Google asked Gamestop not to release it, so I couldn't have the tablet . . . that was completely paid for . . . and was right there . . . oh my. So I just chuckled and said "okay" and left. Maybe tomorrow, eh? But isn't that a heck of thing?

lol I would go nuts!
I was actually in a Gamestop last week, and I went to their increasingly small PC games section, and saw The Sims 3 Diesel Stuff just right there out in the open, ready to be purchased, price sticker and all! I had forgotten when it was supposed to come out, I just knew that it was the beginning of July, so I didn't think much of it. Then I walked over to Best Buy and noticed that they didn't have it and thought "hmm...that's odd.." Then I went over to the shopping mall and went inside the GameStop there. This particular one no longer had their PC games out, instead they were all hidden by the counter. So I asked the girl if they had the Sims 3 Diesel Stuff and she was like "No, we don't have that yet I dont think, I will check real quick when it comes out, and I could order it for you if you like." And I was like "oh...that's strange, I was just in the GameStop across the street and they had it!"
She freaked out and was like "omg, they're not supposed to do that! They are going to get fired, I am glad you told me, I have to call over there right now and tell them to put it away!" And I was like "yeah, here, I even took a picture of it because I was asking my friend if he had it yet" [and proceeded to show her the pic on my phone.
Immediately after walking out of the store I was like "F*ck Tyler! f*ck!" So low and behold, when I walked over to the first GameStop, they had already put it away. =[ Could have had it nearly a week in advance, grr!
