that would mean people like apang, nkt, anom and stericson were the brains of the operation...hmmmmhh???

nehhhhhh

Hearing everyone talk.....I just thought this was funny. Apparently tonight no one else thinks my posts are funny. I'm just trying to entertain myself because I am very let down by the news or lack thereof. I have nothing BUT respect for those guys. I just think Verizon got blindsided today and since I am a customer, well, I just don't like losing!

OK, first of all, full credit goes to the guys behind FUUUU COMICS.

I borrowed some of their images to make this...

Oh yeah, no offense to Steven58, but we all know he is really excited about this phone! Lets hope this doesn't happen.

I'm a long time Verizon subscriber, but....EVO on Sprint just might change all that.

Verizon just doesn't seem to give a s**t about it's customers or it's phones. Sprint has a stellar phone and a 4G/WIMAX network NOW!

If "..it's all about the network.", then they can keep it. Sorry for the attitude but I'm holding a BB 8330 from Verizon and I haven't seen anything better in 2 years!

I, for one, am a bit discouraged that the HTCpedia folks had that "private meeting" with HTC then tweeted that the Evo looks like the end of all the HTC announcements. :( The Evo sure is a nice phone, but I'm sticking with VZW.

My friend and I went out to dinner tonight and when we were waiting for our table, I had to take her phone outside the restaurant so it could send an email.

Way to go AT&T.

i think it depends on the vote for best device if the embargoed device in there turns out to be the Evo then no they only have one.. i gathered from having two spots in their booth that said don't peek.. now i know that two Evos were put in those spots so now it doesn't look to good. the embargoed device being voted for best in the show. I thought it had to be the incredible since i believe sprint acknowledged the Evo/supersonic a longtime ago so would they really embargo it for the name? but my theory is getting less plausible by the minute :(

OK. I've been reading over and over about the two boxes HTC had at their booth and how they put EVOs in both of them. Now think about this for a minute. HTC starts the conference knowing it has 2 phones to announce, one on the first day and one on either the first or second depending on the carrier's decision. HTC sets their booth up with 2 boxes so they can display both new phones at some point together and marks them no peeking because they have nothing to put in either one. Now day one comes and Sprint announces the EVO and Verizon decides to wait until day 2. Rather than leave a box still marked no peeking HTC just puts an EVO in both. It doesn't make sense that the plan is to keep 2 boxes both containing EVOs. Now tomorrow comes and Verizon/HTC announce the Incredible and swap out the EVO in one box with the now known Incredible.

In short it just doesn't make sense to purposely plan to put 2 EVOs in to boxes as it is redundant. It makes much more sense that this was just a contingency plan for Verizon delaying the announcement.

You know what.. I live near San Francisco (big city - lots of tech people here), and work in San Francisco. Everyday that I drive into the city, I see 3 huge Droid billboards - every bus still has Droid ads on the side of them (both in SF, and in the surrounding areas around my city) and I also am still seeing Droid commercials. It almost seems like VZW is not ready to give up on riding the Droid until the wheels fall off.

Yeah, I felt like the DROID commercials were mocking me today.

Why would they put up 2 boxes on there do not peek and then have the same product in them? Are they just playing with our minds here? They know alot of tech people really want the Incredible also. Could they have put both boxes up so everyone is more excited to see another new product under box number two after they showed off box number one? Then thought it would be funny to put the Evo under both boxes to break our hearts just to make us sweat another day and launch the Incredible tomorrow? They have been accused of leaking info to get peoples attention just my 2 cents I hope we here about the Incredible tomorrow but if not the wait will continue.... I will just have to join AA and IA

I've been thinking about the two boxes also..... As soon as the EVO was released they put one in a "Don't peek" box but the other box wasn't filled with another EVO till hours later according to twitter posts

 Possible that Verizon HAD planned to do a announcement today but with the vibe after the Sprint release they decided to postpone till tomorrow, hence the second box not getting filled till later.... hmm  I'm just theorizing here due to Anon, MT Man, others' sources wondering why it didn't happen today....
Hehe, what if we were supposed to get the Droid Evo and Verizon is now scrambling to print new release material ;)

And what happens tomorrow if the boxes are again empty with new signs and the EVO's are now out mixed into the HTC display racks

OK, I'm all outta theories.....

I personally think you're reading into it way too much.

I said it once and I'll say it again - it's crowded there! Lots of people surrounding a tiny box means that there are few people who can see the phone at any one moment. So why not put a few on display to help spread out the crowds?

Very good point!

The problem with all these good points, though, is that HTC seems to be confounding them at EVERY turn. We've been trying to deduce things logically and it's almost like we're fighting a ghost here.

I'm not trying to be pessimistic, but it's hilarious how often we make logical sense and how nothing seems to come of it. But hell, there is ALWAYS tomorrow.

If there is no annoucement for the Incredible or Nexus One for Verizon at CTIA then my wife and I will have two new iPhones on Friday. My contract ran out in December and I am tired of waiting for Verizon to come out with one of these phones. I'm sorry Verizon, but your about to loose two paying customers (which I know don't mean a damn thing to you).

I think they better care because they are about to lose a lot more than just 2 customers. My bet is their are thousands of us that will leave Verizon for the same reason.

If anyone's leaving Verizon for an iPhone you might as well wait til June when the new ones come out and by then the Incredible and the Nexus One will be on Verizon.

Maybe. What's the date for this phone again: 3/27, 4/1, 4/2, 4/15, 4/17, End of April, Early May.........sounds like it's a phone that people have seen, but will never be released.
