Sending a photo in a text?

I set it to about that. Haven't had any issues with it. Then again, I guess I should be asking what carrier you're on. The beauty of the Galaxy S3 forum! Android tends to send mms as a slideshow. That's just the way it is on a lot of phones. Some people have said to try Handcent or other alternative text programs.

Scratch that. I use the bottom few low resolutions when trying to send pics to people. I can't believe the phone can't resize it for you to send like 2 year old phones can do...

Well maybe I should stop saying that then. I've had it on my Incredible and other people have griped about it. Maybe we all just had the same phone. Ha! Or maybe they were from iPhone users...

Yeah, I was trying to send pics too and it said it was resizing but then rejected it. Am I going to have to take two versions of a photo just to send it to people?? Last time I had to deal with that was on a Samsung Flipshot camera phone.

Yeah, well whether I sent the pic or not the pictures showed up as a slideshow. Come to think of it, I think the only people who send pics to me have iPhones! But I can't ever remember the pic in a text thread not saying "slideshow". And yes, you could do a slideshow on the Incredible, but I never did.

And I'm not sure how well Handcent works. I didn't try it long enough. Been trying to find a decent text app without the stupid comic bubbles but I just didn't like the way Handcent looked. I want my Sense back!

Care to expand? Many use it daily and have no issues.

When you choose a notification color for your LED, it shows a completely different color. That is just a bit of a novelty feature, so I'll let that slide.

For LED notifications, the LED simply turns on. The "flashing" function doesn't work, just a solid light. That is pretty basic and what I would consider fairly important.

One of my bigger issues is that text messages often start off in lower case. The keyboard I use doesn't make a difference and it only happens randomly. I assume the keyboard reads something from the text field it is in and knows whether or not to begin with a capital letter. Works fine in e-mail apps, in forum reply fields, and in the stock text messaging app. GoSMS? On occasion.

The third issue I had was that it does not import pictures from Facebook to display next to contacts. The few folks that have pictures that I assigned work fine. Facebook photos? No go. Even more ironic since the settings menu gives a handful of options for this function, though I'm not sure why if it doesn't work in the first place.

Not sure if there are any others. Those were enough to have it deleted (for a second time) within 10 or so minutes.

I want to say its a version thing for some manufactures because I used to have the same problem with the slideshow thing even when only sending 1 picture on my Atrix, Inspire (Before using gosms), and my dad's infuse. It was annoying and no one could tell me why it was doing it....

Yeah when i receive multiple pics in one message from an iphone it comes across as a slide show. If you try out GOSMS or Handcent it seems to get around this issue. Not sure why you can't stop the slideshow with the default message app.

You should be able to stop the slideshow in the default app. If you tap the picture, the slideshow controls come up at the bottom of the screen. There you can press the "pause" button.

I ran into the file not supported issue as well, but I discovered that if I start with the message, then click the paperclip icon to attach a photo, it works without fail. Haven't tried starting from the picture in a while; given some of the replies above, it sounds like it might have fixed itself.

I had the issue where messages from iPhones displayed as slideshows on the Fascinate also; on my S3, it seems even more pronounced. Even text messages sometimes come through with a "play" button on them. If anyone does figure out how to turn that off, please share the method here! ;-)
