[Verizon] [ROM]JDX (formerly Jelly Belly) AOSP+ - v15 (7/28)

This is cool. I just wish the x was a little bigger so it would fill up the screen more. It's a little weak computers to how awesome JB really is.

You can make the X bigger but the resolution is not the greatest to begin with...I'm hoping for an HD version in the future.

Damn my phone is flying on 3.6 with stock kernel...this is really nice! My JB experience keeps getting better and I have never been so happy with a phone/OS. Google has done well with JB and our Devs are doing a great job making it run this well on the Nexus.

3.6 is checking out well... flashing franco kernel now...

EDIT: Hey, it booted up... that's a good sign :)

EDIT EDIT: Wifi works, 4G works, Google now and Nav talk, tether works... everything just appears to be working!

Had no idea he could improve on 3.5. How many milestone ROMs can he write in a row? :p

Did you dirty flash? Downloading 3.6 now.

What's funny is that 3.6 is benchmarking about 100 points lower on quadrant (2600's vs. the 2700's I was seeing on 3.5) but this is the most fluid ROM I have ever seen...on any device. I did flash 3.6 dirty seeing how it looked like a minor update.

I'm running that live nexus "X" wallpaper I posted last night and even thought JB performs better when it comes to live wallpapers it's still a LWP and should make the phone less fluid. But Nova launcher is silky and app drawer, recents, applications, open instantly. WOW! :D

Well, I just found my first 3.6 bug and it's a biggie.

GPS refuses to turn on and lock!

Navigation is worthless. Granted, it could be the franco kernel interfering... so unless someone has some real fast words of wisdom here, I'm going to reflash to ROM and gapps & fix permissions. No fancy kernel flashing, and we'll see if GPS works.

I'm running 3.6 and just tested the the GPS with GPS Test and it's working fine for me. Hopefully re-flashing will take care of it for you.

I am sticking with 3.4 for now, have noticed exactly zero issues with it :D

I just had a thought, Chief, for so long you were running 100% stock, refusing to unlock/root your phone... Now look at you, haha.

Well Anti, my rooting & ROMming goes back to December 2009, when I had owned my beloved Droid for a month. Pete's Bugless Beast was simply irresistible, and I flashed and nandroided right up until I got the Nexus.

I swore I would just be a blissful, happy user... but after Verizon's waffling on the 4.0.4 OTA update, I was neither blissful nor happy anymore.

Now I'm super-blissful, and VERY happy :D

Back to ROMming!

A dirty 3.6 over a dirty 3.5 and no problems with GPS. It locked within 10 seconds.

if you flash lean kernel and lean tweaks you can turn on usb fast charge and also do a lot more tweaking

Ok, so I just got JB 3.6 flashed and everything seems to be working well except this. I have Leankernel 4.1 and Leantweaks flashed, but when I go into the console terminal, press "12" to access the "USB Quick Charge at Boot" menu, then press "1) Enable Fast Charge at Boot", I get a message that says:
Code:
USB quick charge at boot enabled.
/data/leantweaks/leantweaks[3897]: ffc: not found

And when I go into my battery stats afterwords, I see that it's still charging at USB speeds instead of AC. So were you able to enable fast charge on this JB ROM with Leankernel? If so, which kernel did you use? I don't think I'm on an experimental, just his newest 4.1 stable build.

Thanks!

Dirty flashed 3.6 over a clean 3.5, plus added inverted apps, circle battery mod and black ice theme, and LeanKernal 4.1.0exp230. Looks and Works great!! GPS lock in less than 5 sec, Voices work, and deep sleep is perfect so far.
Nandroided!!

So the "deep sleep" issue has been corrected with no additional steps needed to get it right? This has been something I was keeping an eye on and I just may flash this one if it is all good

Just make sure to follow the process recommended by the Dev:
Wipe
install JellyBelly and GAPPS
fix permissions
reboot
then install mods, wipe dalvik, reboot...etc

I checked first thing with CPUSpy.....and with a 5:04 min test, I had 4:56 deep sleep.

Hopefully it works that way or similar for most people. I do not have a lot of apps pushing data but I am in a crappy signal spot...inside of a concrete building.....and no wifi....at work.

Good luck, as this is definitely a fully functional build.

Well, I would advise you to make a nandroid backup before flashing franco, so you can restore right back if it messes up :)

Yep, I agree with the backup. I'm about to have to start deleting backups...I have made so many when changing with each build, I'm about to fill up 32 gb's of space :thrasher:

So, wonder when we will start seeing some more themes?
