Spectrum on Pageplus.

Guys I need your help !
I just got my Spectrum from Craigslist a couple of weeks ago and I'm new to that Android stuff. I found a local guy who can flash or manualy prodramm a Spectrum to Pageplus for $49 and I was told that after flashing to Pageplus I will not be able to flash a custom rom because the talk and text is not going to work on my phone and I will have to flash the phone to PP all over again. My question is how a custom rom can interfere with that flashing process ???

Sometimes flashing a custom rom can clear the activation status.
I know on Samsung 3G devices there's a mini partition on it that stores the encryption certificates, if that partition is wiped you won't be able to use 3G.
To get around it on Verizon, was you'd have to activate another device on that number and then switch back.

Some flashing services actually change the ESN of your phone with one that's authorized to be on their network, changing the custom rom shouldn't change that part but could mess up the mobile data part. I can't remember what it is called but it looks like an e-mail address that it signs in with. On verizon it's something like vz3gw@verizon.net or something to that effect.

Either way I'd also check on XDA developers in the LG Revolution forum (VS-910) and also here in the Revolution area since the device is a little older, there may be more that have been reprogrammed on other networks.

Thank you for the info, Ill check the Revolution forum. I got my Spec pretty chip and I love it so much, I would say that this is the best phone I ever had. I just got an EVO V 4G on VM just to be in touch so Ill be using an EVO until I will figure out how to flash my LG to Verizon prepaid.

Just get your spectrum meid registered on verizon.

Flashing process with cdma ws & dfs is quite easy if u ever deal with flashing already.

it does that also because every custom rom is intended for use with verizon.. to use it with pageplus you have to tell the phone to connect to their service.. with simple mobile i had to reprogram my friends g1 every time i flashed it... gets kinda annoying.... once we get ics we should get the sim card slot open for global use... after that its only a matter of time before we get a sim unlocker and maybe we could use this thing on straight talk for $45 a month unlimited everything

My friend used his GNex on Straight talk, worked well, (7.5Mbps download at his house) except for here at work.

you can use tmo or att hspa+ so... 4g kinda. Not lte.

Its a possibility.. I haven't been able to find any specs on what bands out sim slot can use.. which should be listed somewhere if we at least get "global" capabilities

I just read a AT&T Samsung Galaxy S2 forum thread and saw a StraightTalk 3G speed test result of 10.16 Mbps isn't it to fast for 3G or not ?

Yea. Thats 4g lte speeds there.
