Root [ROM] Starship Triumph - The Final Voyage - (7.31.2012)

it's the auto focus of the front cam causing the crash, the rear cam focus appears fine. At least with mine that was the best issue. Disabling front focus stopped the crashes.

It was the only thing in the gapps that stuck out. So I tested it, and sure enough.

Are you using the Gapps package posted here or another package? The package posted here is honestly a little old, using it because with the first build I used an updated package including the Play Store and a bunch of Apps had not showed in the Market so tried this package that had been posted with CM7 and they would all show.

Yeah that was my problem.. I was using the gapps that was posted here.. I updated.. all good now.

So if anyone is still having cam issues.. update gapps :p

Specificly.. the posted gapps is missing the gtalk/video package.. which fixes the cam issue.

Would explain why not everyone is experiencing the issue. With that said I Just posted a new .zip I have tested a few times this morning with the posted Gapps package and so far have been using the front Camera without issue. No other difference then what was previously posted other then some changes to the Camera so if you don't have the issue probably no need to flash again. Not a bad idea to wipe the Camera data in Application settings before using it if you do. Will look at this further after work and check with a few other Gapps Packages. If you don't mind pointing me to the updated package you had used?

Edit: If anyone else can confirm that 1.6.6 is not having this issue let me know and I will make an addition to the OP.

Loving the rom but I have a question about theme manager's exclusion. Is it incompatible with the rom or would I be able to download it from somewhere to have it back?

If the latter is true does anyone know where I can get it?

Probably but would also include the Theme chooser as you would need it to select the theme or would otherwise need to set it in the build.prop. Easiest thing would be to download CM7 and then just unzip the package and take out the APk's and then put them ware you found them in the extracted CM7 zip. With that said I have done a few things that go beyond what a CM7 Theme can do, not much but could not guarantee adding an additional theme would not make things look a bit funky as after applying you would still have bits of Starship mixed in with other images depending on what theme is used.

Hey chairshot, have you had any issues with connecting to a secured wireless network? I could always connect to my home network, then I added some build prop edits that you had in starship, it was the disabling jni checking in the dalvik vm that specifically caused it, because I added then, and tested out my build and it wouldn't connect to it. I then commented out the ro.kernel.checkjni=0 and rebooted and I could connect. And it's weird cause I added both that and the ro.android.checkjni=0 to the system l.prop but only the ro.kernel.one was in the final build.prop after the rom built!

I don't know what it was but I just wanted to see if you ever had any issues with it!

I had experienced the same with adding ro.android.checkjni=0 to the system Prop and it not showing in the build.prop after building. Think I remembered running getprop in the terminal and not seeing it set either. I eventually found ware the value is set in the build directory a few lines above ware the dalvik flags are set. I can let you know when I get home from work in an hour or so as it looks like I did not add to my Github.

Edit: was build/core/main.mk

So far I have not run into an issue with connecting with a secured wireless network, that I have been told about anyway. I am currently connected to a secured network at work but could be other variables as we store allot of data for other companies and have been told the network is far from what could be considered a standard set-up.

Well it appears the problem is deeper. It connected fine to my network yesterday after commenting out that line, but now it won't connect to any network and the line in the build.prop is still commented out. It seems to be a dhcp issue cause I'm getting dhcp time out errors in the logcat.

I have no clue and it could have been an upstreamchange I pulled in causing this aswell!

For some reason, it doesn't show up under the Play Store. Does it show up there for you? UPDATE: I still cannot update it through the Play Store, I had to replace it with a newer version from the web (just Google it). Would be nice if Chairshot could include the updated Music APK whenever a new one comes out, if possible.

A new version of Play Music just hit the Play Store. Any chance of integrating in the update with the next release?

Yes and thanks for looking out, was just about to say this will be the last Starship build until the completion of CM7.2.0 when I saw this and recompiled. Pretty much deleted the old APK and it showed in the Market so I downloaded and swapped out the APK's. Needed to re-sync my music but worked fine after.

Going to put things on hold and see if I cant make myself useful with CM7.2.0. Probably not so much but is a good opportunity to familiarize myself with Device Files. With that said this build along with the previous GPS.conf fix also contains G60's BoardConfig fix as a gimps into the future for CM7, so make sure you give thanks to the Madman for all the hard work he has been doing and in the immortal words of Sean Price, P!.

Now I'm on my Kindle in the dark, dam nature.

Also, old music apk I took when i decompiled the Razor stock Rom so probably why it had not updated. New one was downloaded from the market and will probably update on its own going forward.

I've already thanked him with donations, and also, good luck wrestling those device files!
