How many tablets have you owned?

The N7 will be my first tablet.

I've only owned desktop PCs with Windows. When I finally got a smartphone, android blew me away. A tiny, portable computer that fits in my hand, easy to figure out and meets 99% of my computing needs on a daily basis? What's not to love.

The Nexus 7 really wows me because it has a stylish design that is sexy rather than blocky and utilitarian. I love that it is made by google (ok, asus) so that I know it will start working right out of the box. (With OEM, I get the impression it's a case of YMMV.) Long battery life that's perfect for long car rides with the kids. The Tegra and high screen resolution impress me. The front facing camera - love that it has this (and the lack of it on Kindle & Nook kept me away from those) and can't wait to try out portable Skype.

+HTC View. Good tab, but poor HTC support. Still have

-Excite. Bad light bleed
+TF300. Bingo! That and the keyboard rocks Still have

Added: Waiting to see the success and reliability and what size flash is supported with the rooted external file support. If had a micro sd slot, N7 would replace my View already. N7 is the TF300's mini me.

First tablet for me.

For the most part, I have always stayed a bit behind the curve, preferring to stay closer to the handle than the bleeding edge. I bought a Netbook after they were already going out of style (I use it just for writing and love the 9+ hour battery life, being the only one in a B&N not scrambling for an open outlet). I bought my first smartphone many years after they came out.

For me, the N7 finally reached the price/performance/product maturity point where I jump in with both feet.

Lets see.....ipad, ipad 2, samsung galaxy 10.1, transformer prime, kindle fire, ipad 3 and finally nexus 7.

Finally I think I got the form factor and userbility bit right with this one.....I hope!

I had the Asus Transformer with the Dock. Was pretty cool but the keyboard lagged a lot, so I sold it. I ended up deciding that a tablet in my day to day operations is no use. Once they can replace my computer then I might buy one.

2. Nexus 7, from SAM's Club. 3 rd day of owneship and already frustrated with it. Speed and agility is the only redeeming quality so far. Lacking rear facing camera and memory expansion slot, are the biggest drawbacks. On the fence about keeping or returning.

If you need a lot of storage space, then why did you buy a Nexus 7, knowing that there are only 8GB and 16GB versions and there is NOT micro sd slot? That isn't smart at all. And also, in my opinion, rear facing cameras in tablets are useless. So far, I have NEVER seen anyone taking pictures/videos with any tablet.

So your two biggest problems with it are things you knew it wouldn't have when you bought it? It makes no sense to complain about a lack of features you knew it wouldn't have. Not a single Android tablet out there has a good rear camera anyway, so even if it did, I am sure you'd still complain about it's quality.

1) The original iPad, which has been commandeered by my mother.

2) 10" Toshiba Thrive AT100, which I'll still use with my DSLR (full size SD card slot & USB ports make backing up photos on-the-go easy). Hate that it still running Honeycomb, and Toshiba won't release the ICS update for it until fall!

3) Nexus 7 16GB. Just had to get my hands on Jelly Bean, and preordered after hearing the positive reviews on it.
