The "I just got my Nexus 7!" thread

I got mine today as well and have enjoyed checking out all of the features. I have seen though, Apps such as magazines, is not rendering properly after the 4.1.1 update. It seems to be cutting the pages in half. Is anyone else seeing any issues with the on board apps after the update? I ahven't loaded any other apps so i can't comment on them.

I'm typing from mine that just arrived. It came in good shape. No problems I've seen others report. Took me about 30 seconds to get it opened. I don't understand why its such a problem in the unboxing videos. :D

I can see I might need a density changer for my old eyes. Has about 30% charge so I'm gonna plug it up for a while. I'm glad I bought a case because letting it rest on my pinkie is a little painful on my finger. It has like a ridge all the way around it that isn't smooth.

Mine arrived today too. And luckily, on the day of arrival, for some odd reason, UPS came by at noon instead of 6pm, so it arrived later than I wanted, but, effectively 1/2 day before I expected. Small happy bonus.

Just downloading and charging now, but having had 3 phones and a tablet, I have a ton of apps, and very very few (like 3, out of dozens) have not been installable via the market (pushed from the and-apps page of a browser on a PC)

It's asking me to go to 4.1.1, but I'm going to hold off for a day to learn what 4.1.0 was like, and to be sure there are no more problems of 4.1.1 rendering issues, in which case I'll just wait for 4.1.2 or whatever fixes it.

So far, it makes me really really want the update on my phone (still gingerbread, and since it's Sprint, god only knows when it will get fixed, if ever)

Just got mine 2 hours ago. I went through and installed a bunch of my apps. I was annoyed that everytime I installed an app and then went back to my list of purchased apps, it dumped me back at the top of the menu. Everytime I selected an app to install, I had to scroll all the way back down to where I was.

Other than that annoyance, the screen is gorgeous. But I was disappointed to see that the Wifi does not support 5ghz bands. I've been having issues with my Netgear WNDR3800's 2.5ghz band, but none with my 5. But it's working for now, so complaints are minimal.

It feels really great in the hand and the rubberized back feels nice. Although there's already a scratch on it. Not even sure how that happened.

I'll have to see longterm if the lack of HDMI and lack of a rear facing camera will kill my excitement. For the moment, those limitations aren't bothering me.

Me too, especially since I'm trying to learn android programming now and one of the big no-nos is failing to save positions of things so you can restore them properly and not annoy your users, and here's the single most frequently used android app failing to save position :).

I received my nexus 7 from gplay today. I had been playing with it for just under 2 hours when my husband let the dogs in. One is a very playful puppy. She jumped onto the couch while I was playing with my brand new toy. It slipped out of my hand and crashed on the tile floor we just installed. You know the rest. Now looking to replace the screen. My case is due this weekend or early next week. It will probably work in spite of the screen but I can't stand to look at it right now. *sigh* I should have known better.

Just go to the "Google movie/tv show" app icon at the bottom of the display and it should be ready to play immediately.

There is no Transformers movie on my Nexus 7. When I go to the Google movie/TV app it says at the top of the page "Looks like you don't have any movies. Touch the shop icon above to browse our full..." bla bla bla. So I don't have the movie or any of the freebies! Anybody got any ideas?

Oh! Sorry! I just got mine today too and I'm loving it so far...except for the no freebies part.

Wow! So sorry to hear that. Sounds like my kind of luck.
