Siyah kernel - Dummies Guide

When updating to new version, do the ex tweaks settings stay on phone or do we need to input them again

Edit. Has this release been withdrawn, link not working

No its not withdrawn Syd. If it was, Gok would take the link down at source. Probably a temporary server error. The usual CWM/Odin links are now up on the Siyah page.

The 'Warning: only tested on stock 4.0.3 ROM.' - does this refer to the kernel bug? Or would I be safe to flash this anyway?

You can be safe in the knowledge that Siyah will not have the kernel bug. To say that its only tested on 4.0.3 basically means it will still have the problems associated with 4.0.4 ie. Video, camera and bluetooth, because as far as I know, 4.0.4 kernel sources have still to be released (or at least if they have, the problems have still not been fixed)

hi,
dont know much about the brickbug. so just a short q. please advise. i am using RR 2.6.1 with the latest siyah kernel. does that mean i dont have to worry at all, about the BRICKBUG, if i flash the latest LPO firmware over the current RR rom?? (coz i think i saw somewhere that the siyah kernels are safe of the brickbug)
thank you

Only one teensy flaw in that cunning plan 1981... when you flash the stock LPO firmware over RR it will replace the Siyah kernel you currently have with the stock LPO, brick bug, kernel unless you follow the instructions here, theoretically, as I have not attempted this myself... and nor do I want to! :ahhhhh:

Siyah s2 v3.5

Change log: added jelly bean support

Change log only posted on his website, so kernel imminent.

That's gonna get a few on here excited today B-)

Every time I see the word, "imminent", I just know that it won't be!

My favourite use of, "imminent" is here on March, 30th, 2012...

... followed, some 3.5 months later on July, 15th, 2012, by this.

I just knew before I checked the link that it would relate to Checkrom v7, but I had to click to be sure :D

Oh do behave sflannery07! You don't honestly think I would let Hawker live that one down do you? ;)

New change log added today. Status upgraded to VERY imminent ;-)

So... less than 3.5 months then? :D
