How can I delete custom words from dictionary?

I've got a few custom words in my text messaging dictionary (I'm using Handcent SMS) and some of them are accidental additions from the early days of my Hero when my on-screen keyboard skills were a bit... erm... epileptic!

How can I delete individual words from my dictionary?

Thanks!

You can't...

Try searching the forum, numerous people have tried but there's (currently) no way to do it.

I read somewhere that this feature may be introduced with 2.1, so lets wait and see!

Actually if you have a non-HTC phone i.e. no Sense UI it can be done with this app... User Dictionary Manager for Android (UDM)

Unfortuantly HTC have their own way of storing custom words so it does not work on the Hero.

@Ziani - I take it by "Clear All" it means all custom entries, and not the entire T9 dicitionary?

I too had epileptic fingers upon first getting the phone!
lol...well to be honest I am not sure as I have not done it myself but this was what I read a while ago. If you would like to try it and let me know :p joking aside though I am going to wait for 2.1 that will wipe everything anyway

So i dont know if i am the first person to do it but i took the plunge and did what they said to "clear data" in the "touch imput" and it works.. Granted all my words i wanted to save..example (f*ck) where also deleted but i had more garbled words in there then actual words so it was worth it to me:)

Have a Ducking Good day :)
