Help Samsung Galaxy S VIBER Issues

Hey there,
we are using 2 different phones and different versions.
Here is the info:

Viber version 2.1.2

Samsung Galaxy S2
Model number GT-I9100
Android version 2.3.4
Stock rom/original rom

Samsung Galaxy S1
Model number SGH-I897
Android version 2.1
Stock rom/original rom

Issue:
S1 can hear the call from S2
S2 can't hear the call from S1

Thank you for your help, sir!

Hmm...
There could be 2 possible sources for this problem:
1. the Android 2.1 (relatively old) could be causing the microphone to not function.
2. Something else in the Galaxy S1 (maybe the model number) is not allowing Viber to use it.

Please go to Settings --> About Phone --> Model Number and let me know exactly what's written under that line.

Samsung Galaxy SI

Model Number: SAMSUNG-SGH-I897

Instead of Android, the SI is Kernel Version 2.6.29 - could this also be a problem?

@IoIcat - it looks like the problem is indeed with the fact that your Kernel has been altered.

We can't really offer you a solution since we don't support custom Kernels. You can either revert your entire phone to factory settings (so the Kernel is Android again), or install a custom ROM that we partially support (CM7/MIUI) and see if it helps.

Users with the one-side voice issue - as I explained, the reason for this problem could be customization made on your phone (either on the Kernel or the ROM) or the fact that your device itself is not officially supported by Viber. This way or another, you may contact our support team at Viber Support and Knowledge Base and see if they can provide you with further assistance.

To all,
We (Viber) are about to release multilangual support for Viber at last!

We would appreciate your help with translation to your personal language. If you are fluent at any other language than English, this means adding missing translated lines, and confirming the existing translations previously added by users: Translate Viber - Streamlined Translation Platform for Sites & Apps - Viber

Remember - we let the community of our users shape Viber and decide what it looks like :)

If you have any questions please let me know. We thank you in advance,
the Viber Team.

I have Samsung Galaxy S, Android version is : 2.3.5
I install viber after 5 minutes write VIBER IS DEACTIVATED ??
Not because of android version ??

Are you using a custom ROM?

If you are, please check your IMEI number (universal device identification number) inside the phone's "About" page. Once you found it, please compare it with the real IMEI number that's written on the back of your phone.

Some custom ROMs override the original IMEI you had when you received your phone, and this is the cause to the deactivation problem. We plan to provide a fix for this issue soon (Viber 2.1.3) by collecting all the problematic IMEI's from our users, and manually whitelisting them. If you'd like to make sure yours is also included in the list, you can let me know what IMEI is written in the "About" page, so we make sure it's going to be included in our fix.

how can i know whether i'm using custom ROM or not?
yes i tried it on different wifi networks and it didn't work :(

If you don't know what it is, then most likely (if you didn't receive the phone from a friend, or didn't let them install it) you're not running a Custom ROM.

Please use this direct link to open a Support Ticket with our support team. They will look into the details of the problem and hopefully guide you through a solution: Your ticket details | Viber Support

Thanks in advance, and we apologize for the temporary inconvenience :/

When I use viber to call my friends, we can't hear each other. I have re-installed it 3 times. I also reset the phone to facory settings but no improvement. However, for a very short time, viber actually worked fine but again it stopped. Also after every call, it displays a message for Force Close.

The Model Number is GT-15801
Firmware version is 2.1-update 1
Kernel Version 2.6.29 root@SE-S604 #2

We see you're running Android 2.1 on your phone.
Have you considered updating to a later OS version?

I have galaxy S2
Model number:Gt-I9100
Android version 4.0.3
Every time I want to sync contacts, call or text viber tells me: Viber service is currently unavailable or being blocked. Please try again later.
I have re-installed it many times but still the same. It works with wi-fi but not with 3g. Please help!

What country are you located in? Which cellular network?

Some mobile operators across the world block Viber on their 3G network. Usually this happens when users have a "simple" data plan (or a prepaid contract), meaning they didn't pay extra for using VoIP on their 3G network.

In order to verify this, we recommend to:
1. Test Viber on a few different WiFi networks, and see that it works fine.
2. Contact your cell company and confirm this with them.
