This is my first time Posting in this Thread. The other user that was a first time responder today inspired me to post in this Thread too.

Like him i am an existing customer from back in 2002 with Verizon. In my area, that was the only one avaiable for a long time. Now other carriers are around, but they are not an option to me as i want coverage over a cool phone.

Android Phones is the first real phone's that Verizon has ever had. Before that it was Windows Mobile Phones, which has potential but never enough for me to purchase more than a basic phone. To me, anyphone with full blown Android on it is not only the first phone to compete with the Iphone, but will be the first phone to beat the Iphone as the number one sold Phone.

The beauty of Android is that it can be on any carier, as well as any brand of phone. I agree like most that HTC has one of the best phones resembling the Iphone, but Motorola is not far behind either, I'm not a Droid fan because it doesn't look nor have a good keyboard on it, but i do prefer a sliding keyboard versus an on screen keyboard.

With that being said, this weekend, my contract is up for a new phone finally!!!! and i'm going out to get the Motorola Devour. My only drawback is the 3 megapixel camera with no flash!!!! someone really dropped the ball on that, and the smaller screen is a little disapointing, but you guys have made me want an android so bad that as a first time android buyer, i'm dying inside to get one as soon as possible.

I think we all agree that the latest update is very important with a phone, but since pinch to zoom is not even available on the droid yet, the next noticable feature was brought to life in 1.6 which is Google Maps with Navigation!!! Seems like pinch to zoom is the next great feature but hopefully that will come in time.

Like someone else said, if you wait for the next great phone, you will be waiting forever. By The time 20 months comes around again for a new phone, we will all be posting about the next great 4g phone. For those of you waiting, I hope you get your wish soon. For me though, i'm at least getting an Android this Saturday Morning to Start Living the Good Life!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Although I disagree w/ the decision, I can't help but envy this fella's unbridled glee.

I have high hopes for this phone and a release before April 5th. I am going to get this or a Droid that day because my Touch Pro has been nothing but a pain. After three different WinMo phones, I am ready for a change and this will be it..

With a growing hacking community, I think Android will be the OS of choice for a while..

I just hope that the Incredible does not have the same multi-touch bug that the N1 has. I was deciding between the N1 and the Droid when I found out about that and discovered the Incredible. So now the N1 is obviously out of the equation... Also, the growing number of stories about Droid call quality has me paranoid.. (echoing and such).. So I am really eager to see this phone released.

I must say that I have found watching this thread quite entertaining and had to join in.. Bravo to all...

If you check my above post to Nash, I posted a link to sign up for e-mail alerts from PA. That could help too! Good luck with it!

I remain hopeful that there will be news today, but I think everyone has noticed the increased Droid ads on TV and price reductions on the web. I believe this is a clear signal that they're trying to off-load inventory. Verizon knows that once the Incredible is announced, it's likely that Eris and Droid sales will tank. I personally believe this is the reason for no announcement yesterday. They probably have a ROI target for the Droid/Eris lines as a whole and are trying to squeeze every last sale out of these phones to reduce inventory levels and bring up the ROI numbers.

I've seen people on here argue that they don't care about hardware, but that's just false in the business world, bottom line is, inflated inventory levels to an exec is an increase in cost, which affects the bottom line, period.

It's no secret they spent tons of money marketing these two phones. That's why I personally believe we won't hear anything until their current BOGO offer expires on current smartphones. They don't give $500 dollar phones away because their nice people, it's a simple attempt at a win-win, offload inventory and score a new subscription/contract.

Here's to hoping I'm wrong :D

I'm still a little puzzled why Sprint would announce what is obviously their new flagship phone NOW when it won't even be available for sale for 3-4 months, nor has it passed through the FCC (as far as we know). Meanwhile, VZW's supposed Incredible has cleared the FCC and from what we've gathered so far, seems to be done with the testing phase and ready to move into production (nothing to prove that though). I can understand them not wanting to share the spot light with Sprint, but the longer they wait for the unveiling, the more ridiculous they will look. It irritates me that the EVO is getting all this buzz and is being hyped as the new killer phone, when the availability is months away! Come on, Verizon! Give us something.

because they are bleeding customers. anything they can do to hang on to the ones they have, let alone maybe add a few, is worth it to them - they are desparate!

and they twitted this back today:

VZWOffers

@will_ayres Hi Will, Yes the sarcasm was loud and clear :) We do have some good stuff coming soon, stay around, okay?

I have been tied to my Omnia i910 for a year and a half now and have learned to love our Devs/hackers to make these phones run. So since I have been following all the latest and greatest phones to come out, I look at one thing. How much support does this phone have from devs. We all know that the Incredible will be hacked in about 2 hours from root to over-clocking. The EVO on the other may not because of WiMax. I just see alot of issues with that dual connectivity thing and its going to be a while IMHO before you see much happening. Maybe I'm wrong but for me the Incredible has me F5'ing engadget every 2 minutes.

Why would Verizon have to wait for the Droid to "sellout" in order to start selling the Incredible? It's a different phone (keyboard, lesser OS etc). Make the Eris/Devour Low end (1.6), make the Droid Mid level (2.01 for now) and Inc high end. Eris/Devour free with 2 years, Droid $99 with 2 years and Inc $199 with two years.

Now you have 3 price tiers, 3 different levels of device for 3 different consumers (low end/tweens....keyboard lovers and high end users).

No need for them to wait to clear inventory. If anything it will help them move more devices AND add more high end users from other carriers. Just my opinion and nothing you say can change that!
