Shortcut to make a call?

Right now to make a simple phone call, I have to:
-Press home button to wake up
-Swipe screen to unlock
-Press the phone button
-Press favorites
-Press contact name
-Press call

Am I missing a shortcut or two?

Not really, other than the ability to put shortcuts or contacts widgets on homescreens or swiping to the right on a contact.

This is the route i go when not in the car dock. Pick up my phone (1) hit the home button (2) look at it to face unlock (3) touch the quick dial contact. It starts to dial when I put it to my ear.

When in my car I just speak to my bluetooth and it dial for me.

You could always place a direct call widget of the frequently used contact on your phone. Or you could add the phone icon to the lock screen shortcuts.

If you're using the stock lock screen... go to settings, security, lock screen options and then click on lock screen shortcuts. You can then add and remove shortcuts including the phone dialer app.

To add a widget to your desktop, click applications, widgets and then add a quick contact.

You can use the voice thingy easily. Double tap the home screen and when it prompts you say CALL PERSON's NAME and it dials it for you.

Doesn't work well with some names that are not easily spelled correctly by the phone (Like my name).
