Root [ROM] MidnightRom: Sense 1.5.4

First time posting but I've been lurking these forums nearly every day so just wanted to say thanks for this ROM, by far my favorite :) although I'm coming from the Triumph and the whole flash process is a little more difficult here, so I've just had a few questions:

Is the VDM crashing that big of a deal? What does it do?
How do you flash the boot image first in 4EXT? I can only do zips (does that really need to be flashed first?)
For anyone who uses profiles on OC apps, what do you set them to? Just trying to maximize my battery life the best I can. Also, which governor is most effective for that?

Welcome ^_^

VDM crashing isn't that big of a deal. I havn't really seen any issues that it has caused.

If you have S-OFF then you don't need to flash the boot.img separately (using fastboot after flashing the rom). If you do though, check this out http://androidforums.com/evo-v-4g-a...ing-evo-v-4g-roms-kernels-using-fastboot.html. I highly recommend getting S-OFF, as it's really useful and saves a lot of time in the long run.
4EXT app has an option to flash the boot.img automatically though for people with S-ON. It should be in settings -> recovery -> S-ON: 4EXT SmartFlash.

I don't really use any profiles in SetCPU, I just really let it do it's own thing. With all the battery mods and scripts I have running in this ROM, the battery life is pretty efficient ^_^

You flash kernels (boot.img) after you flash a rom. If you do it before, the rom will just overwrite that kernel.

Well, his kernel doesn't say that it is a private release anymore in the title, he changed it to release, so I think it's fine. But just to make sure, I'll ask ^_^ If he has any problems at all, I'll gladly remove his kernel from the rom.

Does your rom have long press to close in it?
Nope. Sorry! I'll see if there's a way to add that
