Root [Sprint/Cricket] Will pay someone to root my S3 - Houston, TX area

I would strongly suggest reading the guides and getting it done on your own.

Being handed a pre rooted phone isn't going to help you when things go wrong and you need to know the ins and outs of your device to get it up and running again

sorry off topic.

are you the same Rxpert83 from the OG Evo 4g?

if so you are/where very helpful on that site. if you are here now i look forward to seeing more of your post.

totally agree..

it aint hard.. just follow the steps.. and there are a lot of great people here that will help you when you get stuck.

the process of rooting will teach you a lot of simple things.. clear some misunderstandings.. bridge the gap in your knowledge.

even though it aint hard.. once you do get going.. you will try other things... now and then you will run into issues...even bad software.
when this happens and you dont know the simple steps, then you what you going to do? no body can help you, because you cant speak the same lingo, or understand the good advices. you will have to keep going back to that person to help you out of a simple jam.

kind of like the wires in the back of your home entertainment system. it looks like a mess of spaghetti, but once you unplug everything and put in back, then it aint that big a deal. and when you have issues, you can pretty much know which wire / hardware is having problems.

Did you get your phone rooted? I'm in Houston too and I want someone to do it for me. I jailbroke my old Iphone myself, but this seems a bit harder and I DO NOT WANT TO MESS IT UP :-(
I would really appreciate a name of someone to do it for me or help from someone who doesn't mind walking me through it :) (Oh I don't know if it matters but mine is on AT&T network.)

The guy got banned so this is probably a waste of a post but in my opinion, if you can't root your phone following some simple guides and all the great help available here you probably won't be able to figure out what to do with your newly rooted phone. You need to at the very least be tech savvy enough to root your phone to actually do stuff you will have access to once rooted.

I say if you can't root it yourself, don't have a rooted phone. The most likely outcome will be you bricking it somehow and wondering how the hell it happened.

harmony..

did you read this whole thread? and all the suggestions?

if someone rooted your phone for you.. and later you need to make changes, fix issues, flash new stuff... what would you do? keep paying someone each time?

just spend sometime on youtube what a few vids of rooting your specific phone model (carrier does matter). it really is not that hard.
if you can follow instructions (every word and dont assume anything!). like a recipe to make noodles from scratch.. then you can do this!

and once you do this.. then you will understand .. future solutions to fix/add things you read about.

are you following this guide?

FIRST: Go read my brick warning post, it explains a known method of bricking the viper and how to avoid it.

DISCLAIMER: If you dont know what root is I highly suggest you find out before you do this to your phone. Doing so WILL VOID your phones warranty. I am not responsible if you brick/destroy your phone. Please know what you are doing before you try this.

After 2 days of method after method I have succeeded in rooting the viper.

First) Make sure you have lgs universal drivers installed.

Second) Make sure you have .net framework 4.0 installed.

Third) Make sure you have superoneclick v2.3.3.0 installed.

Third) Download the rageagainstthecage-arm5 exploit.

Fourth) Go to where you installed superoneclick and place the exploit in the folder labeled "Exploits".

Fifth) Open superoneclick and on the upper right where it says exploits, change it to the rageagainstthecage exploit.

Sixth) Plug the phone into USB on charge only with USB debugging on.

Seventh) Click on "SHELL ROOT" first, it will hang but will gain shell root, close superoneclick when it hangs or freezes, next reopen superoneclick change to ratc, and click "ROOT". ( May or may not be needed try just clicking root 1st you'll save a step, my PC is dated. )

Eighth) Confirm that su was installed by opening the app drawer on your phone.

Ninth) Confirm the binary was installed by going to Superuser->"Menu Key"->Preferences-> then scroll down to where it says update binary, if it doesnt say vnull then you have the binary installed.

Tenth) Update the binary to its latest version 3.0.3.2

NOTES:

-For some reason busybox doesnt install, use busybox installer from market install 1.18.2

THX to Sebastian Kramer for the exploit.

UPDATE: Project Panda custom recovery is now released head over to it and flash it with instructions in op, THX to mynameisnigel.

I found out that the newest update ZVD has the patch to fix the ratc exploit (silly sprint) anyway if anyone is willing to give it a try running stock ZVD google, download and install Gingerbreak.apk version1.2 preferably from the xda page. It should work to root the new update.

I am pretty tech savvy or so thought.....I get hung up on navigating to the right folder in command prompt it keeps say parameters too wide or path not found and I can't run command prompt right from folder because HTC drivers don't work on win8.

Damn this Inc2 is pissing me off, when I briefly had the moto with pete's tools it took 3 minutes, now 6 hours later no dice, please help.
