Orange not doing deals on Hero?

My wife just called Orange CS retentions saying she had found a better deal on T-Mob for upgrading - they asked what it was, said "that sounds good" and are sending her PAC code!

Are they not doing deals on the new phone? To be honest it wasn't much better than what she already had from Orange CS, but without the

I just changed from Orange to T-Mobile. Had the Diamond - was due an upgrade and Orange were not interested in matching T-Mobile.

They gave me the PAC code with no argument though. :)

Edit: The 3GB W&W+ allows tethering in the T&Cs - Orange does not. :D

I m on Orange and im allowed tethering but again I have tobeunder 3 gb . I have using it for last couple of years on my old handset iPhone and never told or charge by Orange.

Well that didn't go so well ;)

Just spoke to retentions - they absolutely wouldn't budge on data. Turns out as my wife is leaving Orange I won't be able to keep that magic number. He added on some minutes so I'm on 1000 but I've no idea if that will cover it... Then he said that the girl I spoke to yesterday added a 10% discount that wasn't available, so I was going to have to pay

That's exactly what they said to me. They clearly weren't about to roll over on it. All they did was say that there was no way I would go over it. They confirmed that it's a hard limit and not an AUP.

Strangely I just rang upgrades to go ahead with the new (more expensive ) deal, and they quoted me less than my first offer  I was so surprised I made her go through everything 3 times!

1000 mins
u/l texts
500MB data
18 month contract
Free Hero

To be honest I'm scared that they will tell me what I've just signed up for is a mistake so I'm leaving them well alone at the moment! :D

Funny though, shame I don't get a reward for being with them 13 years! (Sept 96 I signed up for my first Nokia Orange 5.1!)

I'll see how it goes - I may get nowhere near the 500MB of data...

:D "mistake"

well to be honest 500MB is enough if you have wifi at home .

Well, on my second call (to retentions) I was told that the first quote I got from upgrades was a mistake - I'd been given a 10% off that I shouldn't have! So when I called for a 3rd time (to upgrades) to be told it was cheaper than on my first call I checked all the details and bit their arm off!

Time will tell!

I have Wifi at home and my brother who has had a Hero for a couple of weeks reckons that it doesn't affect his battery when he leaves it on (unlike my TyTN II!).

Anyway, I have coped on 30MB/month for 18 months, so hopefully this will be OK.
