Ok - I normally get decent signal, and the 3G coverage in my area is pretty good if not excellent.
But for f**k sakes.... the whole hand covering the bottom and dropping the signal like 4 bars is a REAL pain... and serious issue... it's normally that bad, except at my work - where I'm in some big brick, mortar and steel building that totally blocks my stupid signal. To make matters worse, our building WiFi sucks @$$!!!!!!! So it's always stuck between two bad signals (if I have both wifi and cell on).
I almost 'threw it out the window'.... The EVO 4G is looking more and MORE tempting... although being an HTC device, I wonder if it would suffer the same piss poor RF as the Nexus...
Seriously, I've never had a phone with as bad RF as the Nexus One.... between the useless screen in sunlight, the mediocre at best battery life and the signal issue that is now getting on my nerves more than anything... I don't know how much longer I can stand it.
I'd go to Sprint (i'm not on contract, so can leave anytime), but to my knowledge, Sprint uses 1900 Mhz, no? Penetration into my building would be no better than the 1700 Mhz I'm using now (T-Mo)....
Loving the Nexus, but as time goes on, these issues are gnawing at me....
