Which Sprint phone?

Hey guys, new here at the forums. And I have a question.

Currently I have 2 phones on my contract through Sprint. I myself current have the Palm Pre, I love the phone. Great with homebrew, very open, very sleek and fast phone, and one of the best multitasking phones I've had. And the second phone I have under my contract belongs to my girlfriend, she has the Blackberry Curve 8530(or 20, whatever the cdma version is). She doesn't like it, and I don't too much like it either coming from an 8330 user before. It's good for email, but the rest is not so great...I would have thought that the web on the new 85xx curve would have been at least semi decent.

Onto the topic at hand. The Palm Pre is either free or pretty cheap at Radioshack right now, where I always go for my phone.(I went through Sprint to fix a phone before, not impressed) So I might keep my Pre, and she can get her own Pre or the Pixi. Or, I might give her my Pre, and that leaves me to have either the HTC Hero, or the Samsung Moment.

Now I do understand the differences between the two, 800 mhz versus 528 qaulcomm. Which out of the 2, I really don't mind as much as long as the web browsing is pretty decent on both. Since they both have the same resolution of screen, I don't mind. Now the types of screens are different, so I'd like to hear peoples opinions on both of them if that's not too much. I don't care about having a qwerty keyboard or an on screen touch keyboard, as I have both on my Pre and use them both equally. And then both are getting the Android 2.1 update here soon enough(which if I don't feel like waiting for it I can root the hero to 2.1, haven't seen much on the Moment) so this is a tough choice for me now if I decide to give her my Pre. I wish I could consider the Evo, but the Evo doesn't come out until summer, which by then I won't be able to switch phones for a new contract price...So, which should I get? I can't go wrong with either of them, but it's hard to decide. :D

How long do you have to wait? If you can hold out until 2.1 hits, you might get much more reliable feedback.

So, I went with the Moment. The Hero is nice and all, but for the emulators for my games I went with the Moment for a couple of reasons,

The moment has a faster cpu, and it has a keyboard. Which makes it a lot easier to use in emulators. And 2.1 coming to it doesn't seem like such a bad deal either...:D

I like my Moment in large part due to its hardware keyboard. I could probably live without one thanks to replacement keyboards like Swype and SlideIT, but the hardware keyboard is a good backup at the very least.

Only thing I am disappointed about is the lack of HTC Sense. That seems like it would be cool. But I'll probably be getting a phone with Sense in 1-2 years when I upgrade.

If you hadn't upgraded yet I might have said to just hold off and wait for the EVO 4G to become available, but that could be a few months.

The thing is, I wasn't due for an upgrade so I couldn't wait. My girlfriend didn't like her blackberry, so I gave her my Pre and took back the blackberry, and chose the moment. I could go to the Hero still if I want for the sense ui, plus there are custom roms for it out now that give me 2.1, but I can wait on sense. :D Being a premier customer though, I can upgrade by next year.
