Sent from my Nexus 7

Sorry I'm late to post this I posted it on XDA a couple days ago.

Thats exactly what I'm looking for! Could you let me know when you get it? And if you could take a few pictures of the case on the N7, it would be really cool :)

if any one is interested in the treegloo case, i emailed them to ask about the speaker opening on the back and when actual photos would be posted. here's the response i got. I may actually get one of these $$$ mammajammas. Bday's coming up and would love to not pay for it.

"Hi Justin,

We put a lot of R&D into our case designs, and making sure the speaker worked well was a high priority. We will be posting updated photos of the Nexus 7 case design very soon, but for now, I'll do my best to describe our solution for the back speaker.

The speaker aligns with the bottom ledge of the frame, which helps direct the sound toward the user through the bottom port. It actually sounds better in the frame than when it's sitting on its own.

I hope that helps out, and please let me know if you have any further questions!

Regards,

Jen"

I can confirm the official case is terrible. It's the worst $20 I've ever spent.

Thanks for the link. I'm confused because I thought the official case had a magnet, but from the looks of the video, the Nexus 7 doesn't awake when the cover is opened.

Edit: d'oh, and best to read the whole thread before posting since a few others had the same question/comment.

I got my Kays Case the other day... It's okay. I confess I do not use it. Also there is no magnet (though I think there is on the latest shipments - they are now updating). Maybe a screen protector is the way to go.

Does anyone own the Nexus 7 Cover sold by Google? If so, please provide your thoughts on the case. A few photos would be awesome. Unfortunately this case is still unavailable in the Google Play Store. I suppose the folks at Google would rather see new users waste money on the plethora of non OEM junk cases polluting the market.

I'm starting to sound like a broken record. Sorry.

See my last few posts. Summary, it's terrible and I wish I never bought it. I don't have any pics but the screen cover is just like a rubber flap, doesn't stay closed well doesn't stay open well.

But almost anything else from Amazon and you'll do better.

I got my i-blason case in today, and am more than a bit disappointed in the overall quality.

1. The side flap causes the left (inside) part of the case where it folds underneath to velcro in to bulge out significantly farther than the outside.

2. As a result of item 1, the flap will not close easily. You need to first hold the binding flush against the bulging edge, THEN close the top flap. This design is unwieldy, feels sloppy, and reminds me of a tattered hardcover book that has it's binding glue all dried out.

If you attempt to flip it close with just the primary cover, it stays open by at least 30 degrees. At this point, if you push the binding flush, it still does not close on it's own, but still has about 15 degrees to go. Only by then pushing down on the cover can it close on it's own.

3. The viewing area was not cut square! Unfortunately, I do not have a camera handy, but this isn't even CLOSE. The opening is not a rectangle, but rather a very poor parallelogram. Turning the brightness all the way up, I can see the unevenness at the top and bottom of the screen. On the left, the screen goes so far as to be partially obscured at the bottom left! Pushing the tablet different ways to make sure it is fully seated does not correct this a bit, it just shifts the skewing a hair more to the right.

Short version: This case is horrible, and I will be returning it ASAP.

You don't sound like a broken record and you're doing a good service.

I like my rooCASE.

Amazon.com: rooCASE Multi-Angle (Black) Vegan Leather Folio Case Cover for Google Nexus 7 Tablet (Automatically Wakes and Puts the Nexus 7 to Sleep) Lifetime Warranty: MP3 Players & Accessories

The only thing I don't like is it bulks up the Nexus' thickness. Yet it supports the smartcover feature, it looks nice, and it cost me like 10 bucks.

For those in the UK, you might want to check the the LuvTab Black Nexus 7 case sold on amazon LuvTab BLACK Google Nexus 7 Tablet (7 inch) Genius Multifunctional / Multi Angle Luxury Executive Wallet / Cover / Stand Case with Magnetic Sleep Sensor - Fits all versions / models: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

I just got it today, feels great actually. I can live with this. I think the only thing missing from the case is the additional leather wedge which you can flip your case to make it stand but I can live without it. Also, the smart cover really works. The N7 does power down and goes back to the lockscreen home page when you close the cover

I know someone had posted earlier that Marware had not planned to make any cases, but I just emailed them and received this response (within minutes, BTW):

Thank you for contacting Marware.

We've been told that Nexus 7 cases are being prepared and should be shipping in 5-8 weeks. We do not know which styles or types of cases are being made at this time, but yes, there will be a few offerings soon.

Thank you for your support!

Marware Customer Support Team

Also received an email that this cover, seemingly billed as the "official" Asus Nexus cover does not have the smart cover functionality, but can work as a stand.

I went with the Timbuk2 Crush Sleeve:
Amazon.com: Timbuk2 Kindle Fire Cush Sleeve with Memory Foam for impact absorption, Black/Grey: Kindle Store

It's made for the Kindle Fire, but the Nexus 7 fits just fine, and since I use my Nexus primarily from my desk or couch, a sleeve/envelope case was all I needed.
It's a little more expensive than some of the others, but I've always liked Timbuk2's stuff, and this case is no exception. Good stitching, plenty of padding and a super-soft interior. It's a simple design, but for my needs, it works quite nicely.

Sorry it did not work for you...

Amazon sent me an email saying that my MoKo case was not manufactured correctly, that they would be sending a different one... However they did not tell me what they are going to be sending... I appreciate the honesty, but wish they would've tell me what they are sending me now...

Wow. I got mine and love it. It closes with just a flip and stays closed. My wife got one too and hasn't had any of these issues either. The window for the screen is larger than the actual screen and nothing is blocked.
